autumn 3

I rather like the viewpoint. It is a bit different from the usual fall colors image, and I think that makes it successful. I also appreciate the large depth of field. Good work, my man.

A really interesting perspective with a great tonal range. Was the foreground really that bright & shadow free? Technically, I gotta say,Dick, you are many miles from where you started.. Best Regards-Ross

Thank you, David and Ross! I've been experimenting with a new Sigma 10-20mm zoom and this spot seemed to be a good place to try it. The foreground has been lightened with the aid of the shadow control in Aperture 2.1. The background details were brought out with the highlight controls and by stopping down the RAW image by 1/2 stop. The saturation has been tweaked up slightly.

 

Thank you, Ross, for the kind comment. My growth in this hobby has been greatly influenced by the input from all of the great photographers here on PN. I learn more everyday and really enjoy the interaction here. I've also learned to take my lumps in stride and just take more shots and try harder. I'm very happy you are all out there!
