pnital 36 Posted October 18, 2008 Double meaning....the other is being happy with playing music. Thanks for viewing, and your impressions. Link to comment

janusz1 0 Posted October 18, 2008 I love this shot...Cheerfull and optymistic...It speaks to me in many different ways...I don't know why but, my impression is "Primavera" Botticelli... the background... Chloe in center and all the commotion around :)Ciao Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted October 19, 2008 A double entendre image:-) They do have heavy responsibilities on their shoulders,Pnina. Beautiful shot! I like the composition and control of light & exposure. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted October 19, 2008 I'm reminded of the biblical saying of exchanging swords for plowshares. This looks like an army of musicians. Perhaps we'll exchange our guns for musical instruments. Link to comment
joe-tury 0 Posted October 19, 2008 Wow. Perfect perspective. I like how the light illuminates her above the rest. Great job on this one! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 19, 2008 Ahmet, Bob and Marjorie, thanks.it is a wonderful group of musicians. Janusz interesting analogy, as I love the "primavera" and used parts of it in my painting work, here, thanks! http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=336866 Thanks Jose! Not usual " buttoned" musicians... And Amal, I'm glad you see it like me. Jeff, guns for music instrument... Interesting analogy, I wish it, but it looks a far away dream, despite the bible....;-)) Thanks Joe,She is the soprano singer, so the only one with great skilled ( instrument...;-)) voice in this group Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted October 20, 2008 Enjoying what one is doing is the most joyous thing , I think. I feel their passion in their music & work. Link to comment
morophaenixmau 22 Posted October 20, 2008 Very nice moment and image, my dear!...Ciaomau! Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted October 20, 2008 Pnina, this is certainly not something one sees every day. On top of everything else, it is a very refreshing photo--and you can't beat that smile. In terms of composition, it's great, with the line of instruments, as well as that of black dresses, white arms, etc. It is a simple photo at first glance, but there is a lot here to hold one's interest. The range of colors is wonderful, too, from the warms brown colors to the blacks, and everything in between. This is really good work, Pnina. --Lannie Link to comment
janusz1 0 Posted October 21, 2008 Pnina... Yes, I am impressed by your paintings... I see lots of Munch's influence Link to comment
daily_photograph 0 Posted October 21, 2008 (They transport the violins like this down there?) Nice solo for the woman! And I would crop a bit of the top. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 21, 2008 Mary, Cherlyn and Maurizio, for your nice feedback. Daily, they are NOT carring their instrument like that,I photographed the group with their instruments for PR purposes, so we were walking back to the church... as you see they are already dressed in black for the concert and photograph. Lannie, thanks for your extensive impressions, I appreciate it, and glad you have enjoyed it. Janusz, I'm glad you liked the paintings. Thanks Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 22, 2008 Haven't visited your portfolio (or anyone's for that matter) lately, so I'll have some catching up to do. The presidential election in the US has rivetted my attention. This is a great shot with the only face you can see clearly belonging to the smiling blonds among the violin people. It really is one of those pictures that is unique of itself and an inage one would never tire of viewing. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted October 22, 2008 I see camaraderie and fun in this shot. In a way they are soldiers conquering people with their music. Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted October 22, 2008 what a funny view, the pretty cheerful woman invites us to take part. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted October 22, 2008 I tend to see this in the same way as Jeff. The over-the-shoulder method looks so incongruous when carrying musical instruments. This seems more like the stance of a soldier with a rifle or me heading out to the barn to split fire wood with an axe over my shoulder. The singer's smile is infectious and they do look a merry band of troubadours setting off upon the road. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 23, 2008 Jack, Adan , Andrea and Gord Jack, first congratulations! not an easy task to be a POW....thar scene is not a ususla one as I have explained, it was going back after a group photographr with the instruments for PR purposes. Adan, thanks for your impressions and nice analogy Andrea, glad to see you here! Thanks Gord, your comment and analogy made me smile.... but they are really music Troubadours! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted October 24, 2008 I've got some catching up to do. Fine image. To go along with some of what has already been said, I see them as workers carrying their tools of the trade. Obviously farmers don't dress quite this well, but I can imaging a band of farmers with hoes and shovels slung over their shoulders in a similar fashion. The young lady smiling and facing the camera certainly brightens up the image as much by her countenance as by the fact that she is the one with the most sunlight on her. An engaging image for sure my friend. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted October 24, 2008 It is "hoes and shovels" with a very unusual form, and voice.....;-)) that scene is really unique in its form, as you will not see them again in that pose.... what is unique with that group, that some of them are the builders of the instruments, aside from being musicians. Great group. she, that looks to the camera is the Soprano skilled singer. Link to comment
