Flock o' Birds

This wave of birds was a magnificent treat to watch. They moved as one

huge mass which changed from dark to white as it undulated across the

water.

...for your kind words. As I stated, this was amazing to witness. I shot about 20 frames and I'll post a few more of my favs in the next few days. And yes, Sonali, it is real, although it was surreal while it was happening.

William, believe it or not, I witnessed this for the first time in Ontario, Canada in January last year while visiting for a month. It was bitterly cold too, and they only flew in waves at dusk. I don't know much about birds so can't tell you the species, but it was a sight to remember.

 

I regret not having my camera, but even if I did it wouldn't have captured the experience. It looks like this shot managed to capture the entire flock; what I witnessed often spanned hundreds of yards.
