For sure the travertino stone, so common in Rome, makes for a nice, textured backdrop in this kind of shots (as can be seen in many of yours). I like this one very much: the composition is careful and effective, the B/W very well done. I almost always refrain from shooting homeless people, for it is not an easy subject to treat, but here you did it very well, with gentleness and respect. Really well done! L.

Giuseppe, all your last 3 photos are presenting the human hard situation, and lonliness. The difference of what is an illusion( PR) and what is sad reality, many times. The B/W conversion enhances the feeling of alienation in the city. Well observed.

Without going into the pathos of the subject matter (which deserves its own commentary) let me just say that the toning, detail and overall proportions of this picture are in the spirit of the great artists of The Renaissance. This is modern life captured in classic photography.

This is a tragically wonderful shot. He is placed so well in the stonework, he's like a part of it. Sad and defiant sums up his expression..Great shot well captured...Regards

Hola Giuseppe!

Tremendous shot, technicaly great with a very fine composition, but for me what makes it great is how he is looking at you, perhaps because his life is in a plastic bag he can look at you in that manner.

Abrazos.

Illusion vs. Reality, Solitude and urban landscapes (Deserts), Tragedy and Sadness ... you already wrote it all. I will add only one thing: photography sometimes is a way to give back dignity and importance to our shadows, ghosts and (ultimately) mirrors who wander through the streets. May your eyes never flee from their glance, thank you, Giuseppe
