Is Nora leaning too far back? Or does it look cute? I think it's cute. My

wife thinks she's leaning back too far. Actually, I agree she's leaning a

lot, but it doesn't bother me.

I like it...has a fashion model feel to it...I think this pose highlights her figure well...Nice capture.

Her pose is playful, natural, and she looks genuinely happy, although it looks more like a head toss to flip her hair than a deliberate pose. Either way, the hair (motion) makes the picture come alive.

I find the eyes a little odd due to the mismatch in lighting, but maybe it's just me. Then there's the clipped fingers...

Yes, clipped hands are a bit of an issue here, imo. But man is this a refreshing expression again ! What does the color picker say about teeth color...?

hmmm...maybe I should lighten the far eye? My color picker says her teeth are fine. What does yours say? Sorry about the fingers.

Doug, I am not completely comfortable with the pose. Can't put my finger on it, maybe it is the lean. There is much about it I do like. I like the impishness in her face. Her eyes are outstanding and I also like the flip of her hair. But her body doesn't look natural. I do feel, though, that it would work well in her portfolio. It is unique.

Margaret, that would work. Also, maybe I could rotate it a little, although you're right, this is more for her portfolio, so a little bit of skew is ok. She sure is cute.

Doug, I agree. This is the kind of photo the agencies are looking for. Besides being cute, she has a high energy level. The best of luck to her. She is darling.

I think if she had been turning around it would look more natural. I think that is what dissatisfies about this shot for me: she looks like she is in the middle of a movement that she is not. Otherwise I love it. Just my two cents. M

hmmm, thanks. I wish I had a better memory, but as I recall, she was in a pose. I mean, I don't remember that she was moving. The shutter speed was 1/640 so I guess she could have been, I just don't remember it that way. We will never know....

To answer your question, yes, I think she is leaning back too far. For me, and it is subjective, the pose looks unnatural - especially the angle between the head and the body.

Other than that, it is a very good image - the focus is spot on, the colors are very good, and you captured a great facial expression.

Brooks, I'm relieved you said it's subjective. I can understand why someone wouldn't like it. Thanks for your comment.

Is she leaning too far back? Depends what you're going for. Fashion photography is replete with awkward poses--the more awk the better, it seems. The only problem I can see with the pose is that it causes the cords in her neck to stand out sharply, making the pose look, not awkward, but uncomfortable--which in turn makes the smile seem unnatural. On a side note, is it just me or does the focus seem a bit soft in her face?

I don't know where you found this girl, but between the eyes and the bone structure there's something borderline reptilian about her--but in a really good way. If you ever decide to get extra creative, you might consider a theme around that. (Giant snake prop, green scale makeup, etc.)
