tonmestrom 4 Posted August 3, 2008 what transcends most of all I think is how vulnerable she looks. Link to comment
glen_woodman 0 Posted August 3, 2008 Just a reflection for some of the comments made here. I find the model to look very formidable to me. The very strength and attitude that she conveys makes the photograph very strong. Her beauty is that of a real women which I feel the photograher here has shown very well. Link to comment
mjgerstein 0 Posted August 3, 2008 I agree with all of the comments above with the exception of the "some people look better with their clothes on" opinion. Part of photography is expressing reality, and you have captured reality here in an excellent manner. The combination of strength, vulnerability, and perhaps the toll of the profession is very effective. Thanks. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted August 3, 2008 Thank you to everyone. You would have made her proud. Link to comment
andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted August 4, 2008 meir, this is an excellent photo. is a photo that tell deeply about a person, his personal history, his successes, his failurs. is not a nude, is an history. the expression says that she is not happy to be there, and that she doesnt appreciate who is looking at her. Is a photo full of respect. this is what I see. And, but is not important, I see also a beautyful women. beauty doesnt stop with the 20 years, fortunately Link to comment
allen_r1 0 Posted August 6, 2008 I agree with most of the above comments (except the "clothes on" comment). The lighting is great and you did manage to capture something "real" and powerful. Yet there is something about it that doesn't quite work for me. I feel that it is somehow a comment on her relationship to her profession yet she is depicted in total isolation from it. I think I would have preferred to see something of the club in the background. Or at least something other than total blackness. A nice photo nonetheless. Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted August 14, 2008 there is tenderness, vulnerability, a soul washed by life - strenght and beauty remain intact under your eye that is mine: thank you, Giuseppe Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted December 29, 2008 I think am just now reading the comments. Thank you for your suggestion. From this angle this is the background. Your way though works too. Link to comment
radioactive 0 Posted October 30, 2009 Unpretentious... stark… blaring … real and unforgiving. A true natural capture. It almost seems like it was an afterthought for a snapshot. Raw and unabaided. A perfect Samel work. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted September 19, 2010 You manage to show us here a model at an stage of her life that many do not care to show. It is a fantastic presentation with an expression of a tormented soul. As a counselor in the Miami Jail system for 10 years I interview many strippers and I always sence deep pain and suffering in their words and expressions. Warm regards my friend. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted February 8, 2013 This is a wonderful and REAL portrait of a woman who would probably prefer to be anywhere else and doing anything else than what she is doing at the moment. I like the real aspect of this photo and the sensitivity of the photographer who captured it. I find the "clothes on" comment offensive not only to the photographer but to women in general. Most women don't resemble the photo-shopped nudes with their legs spread open so prevalently displayed here at PN. Most women are real with vulnerability so clearly seen here in this photo. Excellent capture! Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
