aramat57 3 Posted June 4, 2008 David, I have looked and looked and made it larger and looked some more. Although compelling and beautiful....What IS it? My guess is the reflection of the sky in a puddle? Anyway, gorgeous color and form. Best regards, Tammy Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks for the view. I'm going to show you the original, but I hesitate, because I know there are those who will find the original better (and that will hurt my tender feelings :) ). Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 4, 2008 Sorry about your tender fellings but ... well....you know. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 4, 2008 That's because you see everything in this world as a reflection. :) Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 5, 2008 You'll get over it David , they always do :-) Those ghastly posterization rings look kinda cool, like contour lines on a topographic map, either that or I spent too much time reading topo maps last week and I'm now seeing those lines everywhere. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 5, 2008 I saw a fingerprint there. I'm almost over it, but I'm researching you for the purposes of retribution. LOL Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 5, 2008 Now that you mention it... To paraphrase the often used expression of Hans " I await your ( retribution ) with bated breath " :-) Link to comment
alight 0 Posted June 5, 2008 and I thought you caught a reflection off the body of Hubble Space Telescope. In fact, that blue distortion looks like the famous Crap Nebula (oh, is it Crab Nebula?). You know, there are other veggie juices with much less salt. I was going to give it 7 for originality, but the system would allow it. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted June 6, 2008 Wow. I don't usually like this kind of messin' around, but you fooled me, and I like it. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 7, 2008 You missed it. It's the Big Dipper. Ha ha. Blue veggie juice, that's what the world needs. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 7, 2008 Thanks for the nice comment and generous rating of a fairly universally disliked image. You're definitely against the grain on this one, but maybe that just shows you have better taste. :) Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted June 7, 2008 Beautiful, David. Excellent treatment. Actually, I'd rather have the processed version than the original. The ondulations, the color and the light that remind us of a lit swimming-pool by night are all visually appealing. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 8, 2008 Thanks. Maybe the trend is turning. Most early commentators did not much care for the treatment. It's one of those that can easily do that, but I'm glad you found some merit in it. Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted June 9, 2008 I dig it. I thought of a topo map, too. On acid. Very interesting image. Cheers, Jay Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 9, 2008 NASA take notice. Next, you're going to be using your photos to provide evidence that people actually walked on the moon. Balderdash. People walking on the moon--how silly... I like the posterization. It gives a topographical feel to space. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 9, 2008 Thanks. Always such a pleasure to hear from you. You've been posting some really fine work lately. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted June 10, 2008 David, you have shown us how imagination and photoshop can produce wonderful result.Caption is "near perfect" :-) Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 10, 2008 What's this nonsense about men on the moon? You guys need to go a bit easy on that 'window pane' . Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 10, 2008 Once again I'm indebted to you for your encouragement. Thank you Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 10, 2008 Considering you were seeing butt crack when viewing an elephant's foot, I'm not too sure you should be talking. I think in your case it is too much time in the sauna. LOL Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted June 11, 2008 So, once again, who else on PN could start a conversation like this over a picture of 4 light bulbs? This is very cool! I like what you've done and it does look like some kind of astronomical image. Have a great day! Dick Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 11, 2008 Thanks. Yeah, I make mediocre images, but get some great conversations. I can hardly wait until I make a really good image. Can you imagine the conversation it would generate? :- / Link to comment
