The schlemiels emerging from the darkness with "moonlight" warming the scene is effective. Nice glow on the coat. Do you have a shot with the "moon" reflection in the bucket?

Donna, thanks, the moon was not in the scene, I have added it from another frame to create a better context to the Chelm story.....

Pnina, brilliant! The light, composition and color are Old Dutch Master. Strongest of all is the light. Love the mystery in it.

This is brilliant. Absolutely, phenomenally beautiful. It has the dramatic light and delicate composition of a Caravaggio. One of my favorites in your extensive body of work. One of many, many favorites.

The moon & four persons is a beautiful rendition. Control of light & exposure is very good. Excellent use of photoshop to illustrate a story. You are an artist-photographer per se,Pnina. A special rose for you:-)

I have arrived at this image after reading your fine explanation on the previous page. Thanks for that background, the context adds another layer to the scene. Even before jumping back, with the help of your link, the first thing which struck me about this image is the strange and farcical appearance of the rotund character covering the moon with a coat. His ripped sweater and out turned pocket along with his hat give a truly comical appearance.

The make-up and the lighting generate and odd illusion in the thumbnail, I though I was looking at statues. Full size I am left with something more like mimes but still with that statue look.

I concur with Jeff about this one, instantly one of my favourites. It has your distinctive sense of composition and use of stage lighting to create mystery and drama.

The added moon I am not sure about. I guess my question would be does it add to the image and story? Without the title I would not know this was the moon in the tub. On the other hand the moon in its current position is not going to be covered by the coat, which goes against the plot.

I notice what looks like and electrical cable running out of the frame in the bottom left and two slim vertical lines which I believe are highlight from a chair back which add a modern touch to the image that seems out of place. Perhaps a small amount of judicious cloning would help to keep the wonderful illusion this scene creates intact.

This theatre troop and your photography seem made for each other. I can hardly wait to see what comes next.

Roger, Thanks! old dutch, is a great compliment! I'm so glad you have enjoyed it, it is simply unbelievable funny...

Jeff, again Carravagio, the Baroque dramatic painter, is a great compliment coming frome you, it is a very nice feedback!

Amal, aside from your constant support, you are such a gallant human being!thanks for that nice rose.

Gord, wow, thanks for your extensive evaluation, that I appreciate much!

Let me answer your critique and question.

First you are right about the distruction on the lower L. I was so much inside it .... I have cloned the distraction.... good point!

About the moon... this is exactly the point of Chelm, Gord. The moon's placement on the frame is not the right one (on the sky) It is my connection to the skued thinking of the story... ;-)) and it is not as well covered really, it is the skued THINKING of covering it with the coat " saving" it for a darker night.... that's the funny point. It is so very funny, I hope you will enjoy the rest too, ...

This small, very small theatre is very unusual, and I'm very happy to work with them, they are "swinging" my imagination...

Janusz, thanks to you too!.

Very atmospheric capture, dear Pnina. This reminds me of the introductory scene in Shakespeare's Macbeth:

"When shall we three meet againIn thunder, lightning, or in rain?"

Although here we have four of them :) Regards - Hasan

Great story, and wonderful capture of the moment with your usual excellent lighting and sense of timing. I know Gordon rails against anything that smacks of manipulation, but I like the moon coming in like a pitched fastball and the guys poised to snag it like a line drive (I don't know where the baseball analogies came from since I don't like baseball).

Thanks for the explanation I now see that you are adding to the absurdity of the scene.

I also like the scene even more after your small adjustment.

That's a mighty wide brush you're painting me with David :-)

I liked this photo (coming here after reading your info under the other photo). I have mixed feelings about the "added" moon. I think, leaving its presence to "imagination" might have served the purpose better. (Sorry, if this sounds like an advice for nude photography :) )

In any case, this is an unusual and good photo.

Hasan, Shakespeare,is a wonderful play writer, thanks for adding another of his sayings.

David, funny assocciation...but I see the connection, and it made me smile....!

I think that Gordon, just wanted to know the thought behind the moon's addition, it was a good question that enabled me to explain the why....

Pulok, thanks for your comment and visit.

Bulent, thanks for expresing your point of view, I respect it, but I have explained to Gordon that I have connected to the story by adding another absurd to it.

Alberto, and Mehmet thanks for liking the scene.
