katzpjs 50 Posted April 19, 2008 This reminds me of a scene I once saw: 'Man wildly waving arm for driver to continue backing up until the car hit the bumper of the parked car behind. Then the direction giver holds up hand, palm out, in a signal to stop'. This is a pretty funny shot. I'm quite amazed that someone would need this much help to back up to the curb. Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted April 20, 2008 From the look of that fender, I trust you shot the car, too? Something to look forward to? Well, if not, the kid's face (and hands) here is worth the price of admission. I like that their bodies are arched to allow room for the car: how weird is that? Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted April 20, 2008 Nothing infinitely more interesting than humans and their behaviour. It's a very funny one because it's so instantly recognisable. You captured a great moment in time here. Oh and the b&w is very good also Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 Appreciate the praise on the B & W, since you are an expert at that. And, yes, people do provide a great range of photo ops. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 I did take a few car pictures from the great Kingsburg car show, but only because I had to. I'm not real big on old car pics. It's not that they don't offer a lot of great colors, textures and shapes, but more because I think they get rather boring rather quickly. I might post one, but not too many. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 It was at our local car show. They got about three hundred cars, and they are all coming into the main street show area at once, so they have guys trying to help them get parked as fast as possible, so the cars don't block the ones behind them any longer than necessary as they back into their spots. I noticed the one guy using a lot of body language, and then that the kid was mimicking him. I never could get a very good angle that got the car and the guys as well as I would have liked, so this is the best I could do. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted April 20, 2008 A fun shot, nicely captured. I believe the driver is getting conflicting instructions. Interesting cap the kid is wearing. I'm not sure those have made it yet to the hinder lands. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 Those sorts of caps are really big now in our area. Kids wear them even though the ambient temperature might not warrant it. I imagine that this fascination with headgear will find its way to your part of the world in a year or two. Or maybe not. Count your blessings that you are buffered from the madness that is California. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted April 20, 2008 this is funny! i love the expression on the kid's face. he is taking his job soooo seriously! he is working really hard. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 20, 2008 Yeah, he is working hard, but the poor driver is getting one signal from the dad, and another from the kid. When he hits the curb with his fifty thousand dollar toy, he's going to be pissed. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Like father, like son. I like how you've preserved just a hint of the car to the left, which could serve as a nice photo for the insurance once this inevitably goes awry. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 20, 2008 David, don't be " jealous" of Jack's groupie.... I'm yours ;-))! it is sooo funny, the gesture of the two and the " nose" of the car, very good B/W and mores so the timing and observation.Human being behavior is a theater in itself.... ;-)) Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 21, 2008 Yeah, isn't it funny how the young man takes this job so seriously? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 21, 2008 How absolutely sweet of you to be my groupie. You've made a lot of Pnetters very jealous I'll bet. Thanks for checking this one out. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 21, 2008 Good one, David, the inclusion of the bumper makes the story and the photo coherent. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks. I thought it was pretty funny. I just wish I'd have had more time to get set and get my timing down. Link to comment
