le-plume 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Gray is a color - just check scandinavian landscapes if you doubtthat. Frederiksværk is a mill town edged between a lake and afjord, not far from Roskilde, the ancient capital of the kings of theDanes. There a gun foundry has been erected, around 1750, followed bya powder mill, wisely separated from the town by multiple lines oftrees - just in case. Not far from that , a very contemporary steelmill has been established and - a small miracle nowadays - itdoes produce steel. The old powder mill and the gun foundry arenow being used as an industrial museum, under the auspices of a smallteam of enthusiastic curators. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted April 22, 2008 Your story telling is wonderful, Christophe. I feel like I am there. The photo tells a good story too. Gray is a great color here. All the colors are terrific. They fit the geography to a "T." The bell tower is an added treat. The crop for me is a bit tight. I'm wishing for the bottom corner of the building in the foreground to complete this visual sentence. Did you shoot it and crop it out? Cheers from Florida where the color is decidedly green ;) Link to comment
le-plume 0 Posted April 29, 2008 nope, that's all there is... I could probably do the opposite, crop a bit more tightly around the building with the bell (the master's house, I think, but I like the colors of the building in the foreground...when in doubt, leave it alone is my editing motto! ;-)Thanks a lot for your encouraging comments!
