Oh wow! Is this real money? And your ice tea on the counter, I suppose. Interesting place. I like your choice of sepia here, though I wonder how it would look like in color. Did you find out why the owner decided to decorate the place in this manner?

Great Shot. Looks quite an "experienced" place :) I love the nostalgic rendition in Sepia.. :)

Very nice Composition. I like the fact that many of your works relate to people's preocupation with something... they are quite symbolic in that.

I hope you will publish a book one of these days :)

i'd love to see this with the ceiling fan on! looks like they are about to run out of space. do they have expansion plans for when they can no longer add to the ceiling? i wonder what kind of clientelle they have that the money doesn't disappear. obviously Doug hasn't been here yet :-)

David... I love this. It so... you. that is some expensive wallpaper. I figure about 1 doller for every 4 Sq. inches. 3 dollars per Sq. Foot. Now thats investing in your business. I would love to meet you hear for a pint.

Ok.. now I am off to look at the rest of your port. CHEERS!!!!!

This is the wild west, with burros roaming the streets and cowboy gunslingers shooting each other on the hour. You wouldn't like to know what they do to folks who take to stealing their wallpaper. All I'm going to tell you is that the barstools are covered with some kind of material that looks suspiciously like the skin off of the human scrotum... Nough said?

Thanks a lot. I'm always pleased when people see a style or unity to my images. It's been a goal of mine from the beginning. Since internet publishing has become so easy, I may do a book or two. I don't expect, however, to become very widely distributed. Maybe one copy for me, one for my mom and one for my cat.

My guess is the owner takes some down each night and pockets it, and then leaves that little space to entice the next generous soul to part with a greenback. The power of suggestion is everything. As for Doug, I don't think we'll see him trying anything funny after the warning I gave him.

David, this on the other hand is a funny, bizarre, terribly busy and decorated place...;-))The sepia tone makes it even more so, the colored version adds color yes, but still keeps the sight. Good eye to observe all these places , David, each has something special for a keen eye like yours.

Thanks so much. I always enjoy your thoughts not only because you are such a damn fine photographer, but also because you bring such a tremendously different perspective to the table. Our subject matter is mostly dissimilar, but we both love to capture the dance of life. Sometimes just in a different tempo.

A bar in Los Angeles, The Blue Front Club, used to do this too but they would remove all the cash that had been donated by customers once a year and give it to charity. Then I read about another bar that did the entire place up with copper pennies. Every square inch of the place had a penny on it and the place was up Fore Sale. I love to visit places such as this and you have done a good job of showing it in all of its glory.

Yeah these sorts of places are getting scarcer and scarcer. There are some beautiful and aesthetically pleasing watering holes around these days, but few of them have the kind of character that a place like this has.

Well it doesn't look like I'm spending as much time in nightclubs and bars as you, but, then, I don't get the great images you do either.

Interesting place and interesting photo. I like the perspective and the monotone of it all. It's the textures that stand out here. Almost feels like I'm inside a tin can. You've given everything a metallic feel. Very cool.

David, you have transformed this place as old as Grand Canyon with your ps skill:-)I like this tone better than the coloured(original) version.

Every time I think the world, as seen through your eyes, could not get any stranger you prove me wrong. I often wonder how much time you spend scouring the country side to find these oddball sights? or maybe you just hang out in an odd part of the planet. Whatever the reason you have an inventive view and a strange window on life. The sepia is a great choice for this one.

Sepia has been mentioned a couple of times. This could easily be a monitor issue but I hope my monitor isn't this far off. I'm seeing more of a greenish and yellowish tint than one which leans toward browns (or reddish browns). I assumed David gave this an intentionally colder tone than sepia. Anyone?

I would guess your monitor is fine. I have a slight red green brown colour deficiency with my vision. When I read that this was sepia I assumed the problem was with my eyes. This does look to have a greenish caste but then like I said ....

Being "from the 50's" ('nuf said), I feel right at home looking at this image. I wouldn't prefer the color version because it lacks the mood this place so richly deserves. This is a cool place, and I'd love to down a few while I wait for the next shoot out, but NOT on one of the stools you described so eloquently...
