The rusty brown contrasts very nicely against the blue sky. Well seen and captured!

Thank you gentlemen. Doug, in answer to your question, I live about thirty minutes south of Fresno, Ca. It is the central valley of California, and Fresno is rural in nature with a huge immigrant population. Between the rural values, poverty, the pervasiveness of multiculturalism and fervent religious conservatism, it is a place full of good images ripe for the picking.

I will admit to boosting the color a wee bit.

Another quality shot. If it were me, I would crop one side or the other to move the tower out of the center, but that's not really all that important. I love the colors.

I figured the center issue would come up. I did consider exactly what you said, but ultimately stuck with what you see for two reasons. One, is that I, too, really like the color palette, and if I take off the right side I reduce the amount of that lovely orange. If I take off the left side, I will not even have the orange going all the way to the frame edge. So I broke the rule. I know you wouldn't dare turn me in. BTW, if the building line were parallel with the frame, I would definitely have changed the centering. To me it's the diagonal that lets me get away with it. Now knock of the criticism and say, "Dave, this is brilliant. You are a genius." Ha ha.

David, i just have a tiny nit-pik on this one. the can is not exactly centered. i think it would be better if you cropped just a smidge off the right so the the pole is dead center. (gosh i'm critical today)

I'll say you are. You and Doug must have decided to come after me with a dose of my own medicine, since I'm always nit picking. I'm going to print this up, and when I do, I'll measure the exact dead center and get that pole there. While you're at it, is the pole straight enough, or do I need to fix that too? LOL

Dave, the image in the center of the coffee can sure was puzzling. A KKK member robed in black? Little Riding Hood with a sword? I think I finally figured it out. It's someone, who's hair stood up after taking a sip of Dale's coffee.... Am I close? Barb ;)

That's as good as I can come up with. Another vote might be for the genie that is released when that piping hot cup of coffee wafts its scent to your nose and opens your eyes to the real world of caffeination.

I wonder if you came there at night, would the big round thing still be there? You should be careful man, in the large version I can see the tips of rocket engines there. Make sure you weigh yourself down with many bottles of V8 before approaching such ET objects! Like the colours. Cheers, Micheal

Well, as usual, you are close. This was a flying saucer, but it ran low on V8 juice and crash landed. The Border Patrol is still looking for the aliens (although some congressmen are trying to legalize them), but they seem somewhat difficult to run down. Rumor has it that they are working as White House staffers, but I find it hard to believe that any civilization that was smart enough to build a flying saucer to get to earth, would take on such demeaning labor.

Why start respecting rules now? I do think, however, that the coffee in that can may have grown a little stale.

That coffee can deserves to be front and center, just where it is. For me it's all about that magnicicent can and it should not be reduced to just an element in the composition.

OK, if I want a cup of coffee, where is the ladder to achieve it? ...LOL. I like the blue backdrop,Coffee is a center in our human life, so...I don't know the brand, is it a good one? ;-))

Actually I don't know if they are still in business. But they were mainly in the business of providing equipment and supplies to other businesses that had coffee rooms. They would stock up their supplies. They also serviced restaurants. As far as their coffee goes, I would say it was mediocre. Stick with Starbucks.

Stick with the center cropping and the next time you see Dale ask him if he also makes oil filters for '49 De Sotos. Hell, maybe that is how he got into the coffee business.
