margaret1 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Doug, I went to your portfolio. You have some good stuff there. I am not sure where you are going with this. What area you trying to say or show? I feel I am missing something. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Hi Margaret. No special message here. I just thought it was kind of a strange and funny display. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 10, 2008 I think I got the message, we as humans sure have some funny ideas about what's reverent....bless my potted goose and hail Mary! You and David M.'s imagery have a lot of similarities, a strong commentary on our social progress as a sophisticated country. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 10, 2008 Did someone mention my name? Yeah, baby, I love these shots. What Susan doesn't know is that I'm a Biblical scholar, and this is obviously a tableau from the parable in Mark, Chapter 10 verse 29, where Jesus tells his Deciples not to worship the beauty of the flesh, but instead to eat swans and be happy. (slight paraphrase here). LOL Scientists have since discovered that duck blood has the effect of lowering the human libido, thus, there was definitely something in the Biblical advice. Well, kidding aside, it is a most interesting juxtaposition. Good eye, Doug. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks, David. I thought this might be up your alley. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 10, 2008 BTW, of course it's a swan and not a goose. I'm an idiot. Link to comment
margaret1 0 Posted February 11, 2008 Okay, now I am looking at it with fresh eyes. It is interesting and really quite likable in a unique way. Glad you posted it. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,945 Posted February 13, 2008 That's a pretty neat scene. What I like about the still image is that it almost forces us to look at something. All the components seem a little silly when thrown together like this. My question is, " Where's the bath tub?" Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 16, 2008 Hey, I'm guessing that there used to be some bird food in her hand. But I think it is a swan? OH! Never mind about my comment of it being a swan and not a goose. After reading the comments above I now see that you are an idiot! That explains a lot... Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I'm glad you read on, Shawn. I didn't want to have to explain again that I am an idiot. Link to comment
