Wow two 3/3s in under five seconds that must be a record even for me. Maybe I'm on to something big here :)

Don't sweat it Gordon. Nice abstract image. You've got a better eye than most on here if you could spot this and successfully capture it. Juxtaposition of vertical lines contrasted by snow is excellent.

Honestly.... I am well past worrying about ratings, I was being a bit insincere and for that I apologize. My poor sense of humour aside, I do appreciate you guys taking the time to offer a comment. It is great to know that you got what I was going for with this. The comments are what keep me posting, if I relied on the ratings I would have packed my bags ages ago :)

Not exactly....different /of the same kind....( semantics? ...;-)) The R one has an " antenna" and better showing its inside texture. Nice as well is nature free forms, vs man made meticulous BG. Unusual, what did you expect from the 3/3 people... to understaned? LOL

This is terrific! That antenna is priceless and one of the board seams hits the junction perfectly. You do care ;-) Lovely structure on snow and nice gentle light. Congratulations. EDIT: Maybe I would straighten the verticals on a capture like this... just my 2c...

Lucky you with all that snow around there. Just look at my uploads of today to see the situation here...

Nice composition and texture. The coolness of the background color goes well with the snow and sets it off nicely. The shapes themselves are warm and the difference in lighting of the two mounds is striking. The antenna is a great compositional element in the abstract but also helps tie this to the very real world scene it actually is. The vertical lines of the back wall are a nice graphic element, echoed in the outlines along the edge of the snow that is backed by the wall. Those outlined edges add to the graphic feel. Although asymmetrical, I find harmony here.

What Fred said! I love the antenna.

The variety of textures (the surface of the snow mounds, the sides of the snow mounds, the boarding) is a real highlight of the composition for me. Fred is right about the differences in lighting between the mounds and that really plays-up and works with the textural differences too. The colour of the boarding is simply perfect -- couldn't have been better if you'd painted it yourself.

The way the light is catching on the surface of the mounds makes me think it has melted a touch and then frozen again. I love it when it does that (and we haven't had that in T.O. very much for a few years now).

A very fine bit of work here, Gordon. I could write a lot about it, but your image can fight for itself. Excellent and worth a long look -- as always. Regards...

Is this "Gordonism" because it is just great and it should be called something. I have been following few artists here and learnt that it takes a special eye for composition for a shots like this one. What else... yep, the background colours is a quite eye pleaser :) Best rgs Tero.

Gordon, I was going to give you 3/3 but I saw the others and didn't want it to go to your head and make you think you were onto something great here!

Pretty cool shot! Looks like clash of the titans! The color and lines of the background are a great backdrop for the white subjects and that line/antenae coming out of the right one helps keep me lingering around the shapes.

I like the colors you've captured again in the snow.

Maybe you could subtitle it "In CAR cerated Vehicles"? Bad, even for me. I think it is a great capture of the beauty of the inconvenient! Very witty shot.

Alberta;

Thanks glad you like it.

Pnina;

I did not expect understanding I think Iwas just a bit peeved at how fast those 3/3s showed up it must have been only a few seconds after I posted.

The title comes from the fact that this was an entire row of the same model of truck. I know realise that this fact is not at all obvious from the photo.

Markku;

Thanks for the comment and the tip. I went back and levelled the shot and tweaked the perspective a tiny bit.

Fred;

Thanks for your insightful observations. I always try to find asymmetry especially in the face of symmetrical material.

Ian.

That antenna really caught my eye too. I liked that it was the only absolute piece of vehicle in the shot.

Joe; Thanks and I agree, I should let these images fend for themselves.

Tero;

I am glad to know you keep an eye on my work. I know I always look forward to dropping by your portfolio to see what new directions you have taken yourself off into.

Kirk;

I see your point know body wants a friend with a big head :) I noticed myself that if you try to bring it up there is quite a good amount of colour inside of snow.

Steven;

They are in front of the bars so they must have broken out. Even inconvenience has its upside :)

Unlike every one, it's not the antenna that caught my eye, but the super duper vehicle that just came out of Detroit and sits under that veil of snow. Doesn't every one else sees it? ;)........Actually, this is one of the best photos I've seen lately, unfair as it may seem to other magnificent work, this one really stands out.

So much it even deserved two 3/3 in such a short period. Hah! "3/3'sters" must hate you right now, you must be on their radar; to think that you even thought about being original with out getting some punishment....the nerve!

Yes, I know, I know, it's not nice to make fun of the 3/3er because they are liable to bite you in the ass when your not looking much like a rabid dog would. That time they were fast it must have been under five seconds after I posted. I doubt they even had time to figure out what they were rating.

I'm with you, keep the snow, I'll take the new ford F150 underneath the snow :)

Gordon, this is one very wonderful 'abstract', and that car antenna poking through the snow just helps bring in a touch of reality.

This is one very original (and deserving) photo.

Very kind of you to say so John. I am honoured that you dropped by. Just a couple of days back, I made reference on a recent upload of mine entitled 'Casual Conversation ' to your work inspiring me to take a stab at doing some street shots in my small home town. I am pleased that you like this one. I walked around town for a while after a snow storm an was pleasantly surprised at how much of interest has been lurking around my town all these years without me noticing :)

Gord, maby some consolation is that this fast 3/3 "activists" are common in that site... you are not " an only son"... LOL

BTW, I thought you are already in Honduras....!?

Like Fred, Ian, Pnina, John and other said!!! I really like this. I had trouble with the antenna at first, but it's absolutely necessary. You're right about no cues to the similarity of the vehicles, other than pretty clearly (more so for the antenna) being two snow covered vehicles. Well seen and captured, my friend! Regards, David.

Yes I agree, the 3/3s are everywhere and they do not play favourites. I do not really mind it is more annoying than anything else.

I wish I was in Honduras right now! We are having 120 kph winds and very cold snowy weather. Tomorrow we drive down to Toronto and then we fly out early Fri. morning. I am supposed to be packing diving gear and cameras but instead I am hanging around PN :)
