aepelbacher 0 Posted January 10, 2008 Still working with street experimentation. The image on the side of the building is in B&W. Any thoughts? Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted January 10, 2008 I haven't done much street photography ... please give me any pointers that you can come up with. Thanks! :-) Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted January 11, 2008 Love this shot! Great B&W, great composition. B&W is a wonderful choice IMHO. And I love the contrast, on the wall fresco and station wagon. I really like the "Pat's Pushcart" lettering at the top of the wall but think the photo might be improved with a tiny rotation downward of the left side (which would eliminate the brick showing on the top right) and a slight crop if needed. Shoot and share, Lou Ann :) Cheers - Link to comment
morophaenixmau 22 Posted January 11, 2008 Yes! Lou Ann!...You are very clever with these B/W shots!...Ciaomau! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted January 11, 2008 Thanks to you both! Alberta - I considered rotation to the left ... except that the lampstand already looks like it's totally leaning. I used the wall of the building on the right and the windows in the "bay" on the left to try to judge "vertical", but I'm still not even sure what's going to make this image look "right"..... pnital 36 Posted January 12, 2008 Hi Lou An, I like the nice market photo as a PR for a restaurant... wise idea! I don't thing that a rotation will help here, the photo is still very nice, and B/W is a good choice. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted January 13, 2008 My favorite of your three recent B&W shots. It seems a bit dark but that may be my monitor. I am on my way to Boston this weekend but it is not a photo shooting trip. My sis is there at MGH getting cancer treatment. Who knows, there may be a moment to step outside and get a shot or two! Maybe it will snow and I can enjoy a moment of winter. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted January 14, 2008 this is very cool. sort of surreal. at first i thought this was a composite. the shadow of the lamp and the sculpted bush are super cool. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Excellent composition for a B&W conversion. I'm glad to see B&W imagery is making a resurgence in the ART community. I like all the disparate objects in this image, it looks like you "created" all this. Is the lamp post painted on the building? I just love everything about this, the dark toning makes it a little ominous but then along comes "Pat's Pushcart" to reassure us that dinner's on it's way and all's well with the world.
