shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 20, 2007 I wish I could say the effect was intentional but, in truth, I can only take credit for slightly enhancing what was purely accidental. Some of my best work happens that way :>) I only wish we could see the ball. Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted December 20, 2007 We'd never know the difference, Dave. This shot is fantabulous! I need to make me an accident. They're just wonderful and probably THE best part is not knowing how they happened. Glad to see you're enjoying yourself. Cheers - Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 20, 2007 The good thing is that I think I know how to replicate this effect and I'll try again (after I find the ball.) Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted December 20, 2007 How about sharing? If you figure out how you did this. Cheers - Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 21, 2007 I think all it takes is a slow shutter and an unsteady hand. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted December 21, 2007 I agree with Alberta -- this works, never mind how! Regards, Joe Link to comment

shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 21, 2007 Thanks Grant! I think I'm going to have to get out and make more mistakes! Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 22, 2007 It is indeed! But really I'm going to have to get out and try out all kinds of stuff--motion, weird combinations of settings, etc--just to see what happens. Up to now, I've been trying so hard to "get it right," I really only have a vague (or shall I say, "blurry"?) idea of what happens when I stray from the conventions. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted December 22, 2007 Excellent capture, Dave. I like the motion effect in this scene. Very good shot! Regards! Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 22, 2007 Thanks--not just for this comment but for all the encouragement you've given me this year. Have a great holiday! Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 22, 2007 I think you've got the correct approach. First learn how to get it right and then see what happens when you get it wrong. Rules are so much more fun to break when you know which ones you're breaking :) Link to comment
