Nice image. May have been improved by taking the photo later at night and using a longer exposure, although the moment with the biker adds a good human element. The color contrast is good here, especially the white bench outside the store. I might have waited until there was no car passing on the right, it's a slight distraction, but overall very good work.

very nice image, well worth checking out. for me it's all about the red on ultramarine and the black lines. stephanie is right, the bench is cool, but that coffin-like shape above it doesn't help; i think people coming out of the bar--blurred and dark-- would be more interesting than the thematically incongruous person on a bike. the best of the image is in the upper half, where it does rock. cheers.

I agree with you both on all counts. I'd like to thanks you both for those constructive comments. I think these two critiques were done in the spirit of what was the original intent of this site. Thanks again.

I think it is better than you all have given it credit for. Certainly there is no rip snorting action and skyburst color scheme, but this is a fine little atmospheric glimpse of a place and time. Could a better photo be made standing here? Probably. Still there's a story here being told, and I'm listening.

Hey thanks David. Originally I wanted just a photo of that old sign, but the guy on the bike came by. Also for nostalgia sake , I wanted that old neon Old Style sign. When I was much younger I put down quite a few of those Old Styles in that place. Thanks for the visit.
