I am very, very impressed!!! Congratulations on this momentous occasion. Someday I may even try to do this, assuming I can stay awake this late into the evening...

Thanks for the comment. Your timing is impeccable. My husband groaned when I announced that I wasn't sure I could stay up that late. He thinks we're 29. I'd like to think that but know better :) Shooting fireworks isn't very difficult. Shooting interesting fireworks IMO requires more than the fireworks in the frame. That can be challenging to impossible depending on the location. I got lucky. Cheers -

Hi Alberta, I like what you say about shooting interesting fireworks (which requires more than the fireworks in the frame). You just made the demonstration with this terrific shot ! Many thanks for the technical details you have left, it helps a lot to learn. Cheers, Loic

Nice clean (fire)work(s)here Alberta..especially in capturing that so effective foreground.!

I had a crack at some fireworks shots some time back but they came nowhere 'clean' as this. Regards ~ Mike

Sharp detail in such low light. Love the three people in the lawn chairs which gives sense of size and perspective. Feels like you're sitting right there in the crowd. Bravo my friend. All the best, Cynthia Bowers

Thanks much for your rating and comment. Of the four in this series, this one's my favorite. Glad you liked it too.Tero, I snapped about 50 photos to end up with the four in the series. The hardest part was not only the timing of the burst but catching the ones that didn't explode so high in the sky that I couldnt get the chairs in the same frame at this focal length. What started me off on my quest to photograph fireworks was inspiration from another photonet member whose fireworks photo I greatly admire - "Fireworks" by Gianluca Maiolini:

Have a great day and happy shooting!

I've been out and busy quite a bit and somehow let this one slip past me. This is hands down the best fireworks shot I have ever seen. As if doing such a great job with the fireworks wasn't enough you've got those cool smoke trails. The silhouettes of the spectators basking in the glow of the fireworks as well as the reflections on the water are spectacular and lift this to a whole new level. The lights and firework on the far shore of the bay ratchet things up even further. 7/7 without a doubt!!

Postsript: Alberta you will have to add on a 1 to each of my ratings since they would not let me, but you know what I think anyways :)

Thank you for your very constructive comments and generous rating. I try not to look at the numbers but usually fail, being all too human. But this can't be my best. I'd have no where to go! Cheers -

Although it is the best I have ever seen, I am sure it is not the best you can create -- that one is always just around the corner :)

Thanks!

It's been a long time since I shot any fireworks because in my home town, the scenery is always the same and fireworks all look pretty much the same anyway.

I need to plan a trip where there will be fireworks to get a new background opportunity.

Cheers ~
