Beautiful warm available light, great capture by it of your lovely subject. I could not resist a innocent smile.

Could be in one of the countless Australian little tourist towns I visited. Great human study, as I thought without any misogynistic ideas, the beautiful sex is always attracted by the flavours of these shops as we are attracted by them.. the opposite sex. Some men might call this in fear for their cards, safe shopping. I confess myself to being guilty rescuing few times an old, forgotten, useless but Beautiful camera. :-) Best regards, Mario

You're right on target. This was shot in the downtown area of the little town where I live in rural Missouri. It is a classic "historic" district, which means, at least in part, a "tourist trap" The historic old structures are occupied now by antigue stores and other shops that have little to do with the real life here. Thanks for noticing, and special thanks for your comment on the shot of my gone but favorite pal, Rio.

Joe, I like this one very much. The colour tonality is beautiful, the detail is great, the composition too, but the most important, it tells a story... Did you use the tripod here?

I'm glad you like this. Yes, I used a tripod and a fairly long exposure. It was well after dark, and I took this in my little town using only available light. Obvously the shop window was nicely lit. Warm regards...

Lovely warm photo, reminds me of Christmas when it's dark and all the shop windows are illuminated. probably the only time I go shopping apart from the usual supermarket stuff, regards

Studio lights for a street photo. The outdoor spots balanced with the indoor light. Reporter Joe the photo with the father and son was simple and natural, this one too is simple and warm. Its interesting for me to see your choices and i feel friendly when i see them. I like that you don't manipulate even though i try to learn the know how. My best regards.

Terry, Dave, Glauco -- Many thanks for your kind words.

Yiannis: This shot is a little bit manipulated. I didn't change any basic elements -- people or places or things -- but I did alter some of the values within the image to create a different "mood." Thanks for your comment.

We have a number of these same type of shops in our local town as Parry Sound is quite a tourist destination, at least in the summer time. I love the warmth of the incandescent light. The two lamps one above the other pull me inside the store to look around at all the goodies. It looks like there is a porcelain piggy bank sitting on the seat of a chair, amongst other treasures. I'm sure this would have a terrific impact printed large. I like everything about the composition from the prominent closed sign and the down spout to the casual stance of the window shopper, speaking to me of a women in no hurry to be anywhere else. I can find no room for improvement, which is quite unusual for me :)

Such a warm and gentle feeling you have created. I find this image to be very much in the style of Joseph Popper.

Let me start by saying this is a beautiful image and i concur with the previous statements. To be honest, my first reaction was that the color balance might be off but as i looked at it and took in the warmth, it really did not matter what I thought initially. A feast for the eyes and keeps the doctor away! Regards,

Your initial reaction was quite right. Your eye has not failed you. The color and light values are a bit off here and there -- but I must add that they're intentionally "off," for good or ill. I've been experimenting of late with very slight alterations in various values to now and then create a few images, seemingly routine, that provoke exactly the reaction you had (i.e. "What's strange here? What's not quite real?"). My hope is that they will be finally perceived as "almost" real. Not all that original, I admit, but I find the results interesting. Thanks for your thoughtful and perceptive comment on that very subject.

Joe, this is exactly the window shopping I will do, if I happen to see this kind!I like the setup of the window that tells many past stories and is very tempting to look inside,.... It is very well lighted! the play of shadow behind the woman is very nice. the best thing that it is closed ....so I don't spend..... LOl

Beaitiful warm color nelange , very well composed.

Yes, it is very cheap to shop in my little town after dark. Nothing is open, and you can just pretend to buy. Thanks very much for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the colors and "mood" of this shot.
