I like it, I like it. The story, the expression, the DOF. My only problem with this photo is the composition of the modek riht in the center. Maybe cropping a bit from the frame to her back would help.

Edwin, many thanks for your time and kind comments! This is one place where I would deliberately break the general rule of 2/3rds in composition. The placing of the subject in the center emphasizes the stark surroundings the child is put in and portrays her vulnerability. Also I deliberately did not want to make this picture unduly "pleasing" to the eye to get across the message effectively. Thanks, again, Apurva.

I have actually tried to study more about portrait photos recently. In my eyes this central composition for this little fellow works quite nicely, with this Depth of field it really stands up the kid more up. Also it adds more drama for the photo. Really good piece.

I'm assuming that this child is impoverished, and that makes me sad. Your depth of field works well by isolating the child, and his pose in the chair is quite good. A sad but accomplished image.

I really like this one... It´s so strong in it´s messege and beautiful at the same time... A really good shot with so much feelings in it.... Good work...
