Nice control of shallow DoF and very strong lines and placement within the frame. I love the way the light is catching the anole's chin. I was down in Florida last spring for a native orchid conference in Miami and I tried to get some shots of these guys. They were all too fast for me, so I stuck with taking photos of orchids -- once you find orchids you don't have to chase them :)

This photo didn't rate very well but I loke it a lot and so appreciate your positive comments. I find the little lizards too fast to photograph. But the larger ones actually seem to respond to my voice. I talk slowly and sweetly and they stay still for a bit, moving their heads from side to side in a questioning, often comical way. As for your orchids, outstanding. There are orchids and then there are Gordon's orchids. Most of them have an "other planet" look and feel. I especially like "Phrag. caudatum." After looking at your work, I discovered a huge nursery not far from my home that I will have to visit. So thanks, for the comments and for opening my eyes to the beauty of orchids. Cheers -

So now I am going to add lizard whisperer to your growing list of talents.

When I was in Florida back in April, I went to the Marie Selby Botanical gardens in Sarasota, it is world famous for orchid research. I too visited some commercial orchid growers mainly around Miami. They are great places to take photos of cultivated orchids. One of these days I will stop shooting new photos long enough to get around to working on some of those shots from last spring.
