Ophidiaphobia-The fear of snakes

I don't know about snakes in planes, but I can tell you that there are plenty in Costa Rica. This fantastic looking snake is called a Parrot Snake (Leptophis ahaetulla). It can be found throughout southern Mexico, Central America, and Argentina. Althought this snake looks dangergerous it is a rear fanged snake and is mildly venomous. It is common for this snake to rear up in a poised strike, when really it's bluffing. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Extremely nice shot!

Since this is a critique forum, I guess a smaller aperature would have helped focus more of the snake. I'm amazed you got his face and mouth so clearly!

Fantastic shot! I personally love the dop....focuses the eye on the important part! Head is sharp as a tack, colors wonderful, composition great. Bravo!

I can guarantee you there's nothing to put your finger on, as this is a real image and nothing fake about it. If you really knew there was something artificial about the image, I'm sure you could've figured it out by now.

I admire that you could capture a shot like this. I would have been running as fast as I could the other way. Uggg...I hate snakes...but you sure have captured this perfectly. Great job. Leanna:O)

I like my own rattlesnake shot (stop by if you want to see), but yours is fantastic. I think you should call this one "Zorro" for the body position! Of course perfect focus/execution on the head, this is a remarkable image, bravo!

WOW! I definately would not have been able to hold she camera steady. Even if he is bluffing. Great shot!
