Dave, I like this shot. Nice color and composition and, yes, humor. But an old pro like you should know not to post on Saturdays when the loonies are out for blood. I try to go through as many shots as possible on the weekends to rescue them from the idiot 3/3 raters. Take care, amigo... Joe

Thanks. While I am not especially enamored of this one, I did think there was some humor in it. I go up and down on the ratings. I kind of decided I was just going to put virtually every image I post up for ratings, and steel myself for the results. My last few posts I knew would draw a lot of 3/3 s, but I decided I wouldn't let it bother me. I'm trying to toughen myself up emotionally. So right now my attitude is let the bastards have their feast on my flesh. Take care.

you know thay will never lose each other in the woods! i am impressed that you are posting all for ratings, but not letting them get to you. maybe you should challenge some of the rest of us to do the same.

It is a funny while serene capture David....it is always funny for me to see a couple (be it 2teenage girls, wife and husband, etc...) that put similar clothes and colors...the light is real nice in this image....

I kind of figured you would see some humor in it. Those two little yellow hat bills are almost bird-like. But in this case, they both have color, so how are we to distinguish between the male and female?

Thanks for being out there. Your sanity is refreshing.

the size David, the size...in this paricular specie the male is often a bit larger than the female...though not so much here...maybe the earrings then...how do you want me to stay serious when I imagine you in your green tent with just the objective going through, waiting hours after hours to observe this rare specie of bluebody/yellow head bird....-)

As an engineer, I thought I could rely upon you for more accurate and technical information. Size is possible, although as viewed here, it would be difficult to observe. Perhaps we shall have to capture them and take measurements. Earrings? Surely you jest. Around here I'm the ONLY one that doesn't have them. Clearly I shall have to pack up my tent again and head for the woods for further observations.
