Guest Guest Posted September 4, 2007 Janis-- This has a wonderful feel to it. I especially like the way you've isolated the road. It really pulls me along on the journey. There is so much movement and suggestion in the road itself, surrounded as it is by the nicely-colored countryside, interrupted so effectively by the railroad tracks, I'm not even sure that I need the truck. But the truck doesn't bother me. This is truly a road going somewhere and I'm up for going along for the ride. Link to comment

janisok 0 Posted September 5, 2007 ...my dad had a story about the school bus(long ago, when the road was dirt)slipping and sliding sideways trying to make it up this hill to deliver all the kids to school...I travel this hill everyday and not a day goes by that I do not remember his voice proudly telling his story.... sky blue 0 Posted September 5, 2007 Songs are written for pictures like this and it already has a great story. The tracks lend a sense of adventure to the scene. Nice photo and much more potential with vehicles coming and going and trains and, well, a myriad of other things. One of those wonderful photo spots. Well done. ~Sky Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted September 11, 2007 Nicely captured the long road of memory lane. The car there a significant element for the composition & mood. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted September 12, 2007 Yes you have created quite a fine image here. The dark areas left upper and right keep us focused on the wonderfully graphic road. The truck and railroad crossing are placed just right. Even thought there is action at this moment, I can feel and hear the peace of this place and it sounds and feels good. Nice work. adan1 0 Posted September 15, 2007 There is warmth to this scene, even though it only depicts a car driving on a lonely road. I think the perspective is brilliant. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted September 15, 2007 I like the way the trees crowd in from the edges of the frame, this really helps to focus the gentle curve of the road. I think the perspective is great. Most importantly for me I love the feel of this image. The focus is softened and something about whatever tonal adjustment you made here, gives the whole thing a sense that it is in fact one of your memories that I am peering into. A great shot from conception right through to PP. Congrats. Link to comment
