janisok 0 Posted August 14, 2007 She was very concerned about the difference in his chin and her's! He told her that when she got older she too would have an "extra one"! Kinda like a turkey he informed her... Link to comment

maria hrabinska 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Very well captured, the explained story adds some added value to this excellent portrait. I like his face, showing no emotions, and her smile. I wonder what would happen when it would not be his grandchild...regards,maria Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Thanks for the comment Maria! It is his Great GrandChild, and even if she were not related to him I feel sure she would have gotten the same response. We are talking about a very gentle and compassionate man....as well as one well equiped with a sharp sense of humor! Here is a shot of the end of their conversation..... J Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 16, 2007 What a wonderful connection you've captured! I love the slight desaturation in tones, which gives a sense of timelessness to the photo. Link to comment

tammysphotos 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Ohhhh, Janis...this is probably one of my most favorites from you. It tells such a sweet story. I think these two shots would work well together also. I'm betting Grandpa would like to have a copy for his wall. :) Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Janis, this is really wonderful! I agree that the mild desat is nice and if you did that on the attached photo as well, they would make a wonderful pair. I just love her look of contemplation and absolute comfort/security in her stance while in his arms. You can tell that they share a wonderful and close relationship. They are not strangers. Wonderful! Leslie Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Outstanding! I wonder how many shots like this are missed. Too many I'm sure. Nice job. ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2007 Beautiful work. This is a great image, very expressive and shows an expressive relationship between the two of them and also reaches out to the viewer. I particularly like the subtlety of the way his hand comes around her waist. Her touch of smile and softness against him are wonderful. I like the desaturation as well. The light is very nice.
