bosshogg 4 Posted August 9, 2007 Yes, that light above the head is a flashing beacon. Yes, this is tasteless. Yes, I am mocking wretched excess. Yes, some of you will be upset. Fell free to comment and rate. Link to comment
greg neils 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Can you tell me where he is? I like all of the black framing the billboard and that it hangs in space just like jesus walking on water. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 9, 2007 Minot, North Dakota. Right across from the fairgrounds. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted August 9, 2007 nobody would want to have an airplane hit Jesus, eh? I think that if Jesus saw this huge sign he would either change his name or die from laughing. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 9, 2007 The billboard is not that high, so an airplane would hit other things before he ever got to the billboard. The flashing beacon is just pure excess and gauche. On the other hand, crashing into this in an airplane might make a hell of a story. Say, for instance a non believer hits this puppy, and is taken out. At the Pearly Gates, he can honestly tell St. Peter that he had a close personal relationship with Jesus. Now that ought to get him in pronto. As for the flashing beacon, I would love to print this baby up, and install a flashing light through a hole in the print. How cool that would be. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 10, 2007 Only you David would find an interesting image in a bill board! There sign poster is missing some letters, hopefully they had a nice "ervice" on family "nigh" and if "come expecting" means you have to be PG to attend then that lets me out.....whew! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 10, 2007 Christ! This picture makes him look like the patriarch out of Children Of The Corn. Spooky! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 10, 2007 That's the greatest description of one of my depictions I have ever had. I can't stop laughing. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 10, 2007 Maybe you and your guests can drive over to Minot and hit this church on Sunday. Then you can take Shawn to Starbucks as there is one in Minot. He'll feel right at home then. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted August 11, 2007 I like how it seems to appear in the dark....like an apparition....nicely done...I think you should consider a presentation with signs...you have such a collection that I think a serie with carefully ordered sequence would be a real pleasure to see... bosshogg 4 Posted August 11, 2007 Thanks. I do love signs. So many are amusing, disgusting, inane, or unintentionally convey an unintended meaning. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted August 11, 2007 All you guys are going to Hell! And I'll tell you one thing - I'm not sharing a bunk with any of ya! Except Susan. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 11, 2007 Well, as regards yours truly, that's not news. You and Susan, on the other hand seem too nice to be found there. This one is almost as good as the one you had at the restaurant. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted August 11, 2007 Oh no, my friend! With your light in the darkness theme, this has a celestial aura my shot sorely lacks. BTW, I was by that restaurant the other day, and Jesus has gone. I guess he ascended. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 12, 2007 I'm confused.....either I'm NOT going to hell or I AM sharing a bunk with Doug?! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 12, 2007 I think you are too good to be going there (but, of course, I don't believe in the place). As to your bunk arrangements and your estimated arrival, I'll have to get back to you on that. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 28, 2007 I like the sign. The flashing beacon might be a bit tasteless, but you've managed to capture the whole thing well. The black background really adds to the image, so I'd just say... another good shot of yours! Best regards, Frank Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 28, 2007 Thanks. You have been most generous in your words and rates. I am truly grateful. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 17, 2008 Actually, I believe REAL love would be allowing others NOT to meet Him. What I believe you are expressing is not love but possessiveness. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 17, 2008 It is very clear that you have some strong religious convictions. While I do not share them, I'm pleased that you have found some answers to the great riddles of life. I would prefer that we not turn this into a discussion group about religion, but, instead, stick to discussing photography and related issues. I'm most appreciative of all the effort you have taken to thoroughly examine so many of my images and grateful for your sharing your opinions about their merit. Link to comment
