alight 0 Posted August 3, 2007 are ya getting soft, taking pretty landscape pics? Well, maybe it's time for that. This is really spectacular, of course mainly due to the amazing clouds. I have two fiddle tunes, though. The first one is the bright circular spot on the LH side. It almost looks like a flare, or a water drop on the glass. The next one is the black spot right by the left border, maybe a bird? Both would be very easy to clone out. Yeah, I'm being picky, but an image like this deserves pickiness, IMV8O. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 4, 2007 Legitimate complaints I say. I thought about the circle, and decided it could be like a sun trying to come through the clouds. I did think about taking it out though, and you may be right. I never even noticed the dot on the left. I'm sure it is a bird, but it should have come out. Thanks for seeing this. You have a good eye. As far as for being soft, I guess every now and then I throw in the towell and do a pretty. This was early morning, and I had just gotten up and ready for the day, and stepped outside of Susan's place, and saw this fine scene. So I over ruled my principles and shot. Later when I saw it on the big screen, I could not help but like it. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 4, 2007 This sure is a "pretty." I'm glad you're such a balanced chap. So this is Susan's backyard. Just plain sad. There's barely enough room to breathe. A gorgeous scene with enough trouble in the clouds and age in the grass to keep it from being too airbrushed. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 4, 2007 Thanks. Be careful about that "balanced" crap. If that gets out, my reputation will be ruined. I know you wouldn't want that on your conscience. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted August 4, 2007 i'm not a country music fan, but i can't keep that Dixie Chicks' tune "Wide Open Spaces" out of my head. i thought the same as you about the circle possibly being the sun trying to burn through the clouds, but i think the angle is probably wrong. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 4, 2007 I said "chap" not "crap." Ha. Rest assured, when I mention you (and I do often), I refer to you as completely off your rocker, undefinable, a madman with a camera....you see where I'm going. Now you can sleep soundly... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 4, 2007 No, I'm pretty certain it is lens flare. I'll tell you the song that kept running through my mind was Iris Dement, "Somewhere In the Middle of Montana." At least I think that's the title. I'm going to find the CD for Susan and send it to her. Now I'll have to go listen to that Dixie Chicks one. I'm not a big country fan either, but when it gets folksy, I'm into it. Cheers Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 4, 2007 This is sooooo stark and beautiful and to think we kept telling Peggy "it won't be very interesting".....it's that early morning light and that wonderful "big sky", are you homesick for Montana now?! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 4, 2007 Yes, I do miss Montana. It was a hoot. And you are a super hostess, cowgirl, buckaroo. Link to comment
aramat57 3 Posted February 19, 2008 Beautiful wide open space. I like the sun burning through, and even the lens flare. You can always tell people it's an orb seeking final rest somewhere in the west. Best regards, Tammy Link to comment
