janisok 0 Posted June 12, 2007 What a great movie! I see the police car outside....looks like Andy or Barney's car! Thanks for the memories. J Link to comment
janiebarber 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I am soooooo jealous!!! What a great find. This is absolutely awesome and I love everything about the shot. Link to comment
kellen1 0 Posted June 14, 2007 The curtains are really what does it for me here, such a "period piece"-although I know that you probably took this in 2007! Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted June 17, 2007 This is a remarkable place. A fellow who has a fondness for the 1950s has recreated a whole community from that era on his farm, and calls it "Memory Lane". This is in a metal house that was moved here, and is fully furnished in 50s style. There is also a diner, a country store, a church, a service station, and a sheriff's office much like Andy's. bosshogg 4 Posted June 19, 2007 Great find here. The lamp is priceless. Can you imagine having one of those babies in your house? NOT! The background is very well done. Link to comment
cjtj50 0 Posted January 2, 2008 This is so funny and good! I Love the movie too! I also like the composition and the police car out the window. What town is this? Only if you want to offer the name of course. Take care Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 3, 2008 Thank you! The 'town' is entirely the personal collection of a man who has a fascination with the 1950s. It is on a farm in Hawkins County, TN, and is open to the public only on Memorial Day weekend. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 50,323 Posted January 6, 2008 Well, 1st off I can't understand how this one got by me all these months. In fact my bride brought this to my attention. [she likes your pictures]. That movie reminds me so much of my chilhood. (It's almost too close) I can actually remember my Dad cursing the old coal furnace. But he knew how to bank a fire & keep the place warm MOST of the night . Doug this is a great shot. I wish I had that lamp for my wife to throw out to the curb on Wednesday morning. Nice going Link to comment
cjtj50 0 Posted January 6, 2008 That is very interesting. We visit Nashville often so a trip we will for sure have to make on Memorial Day! Thank you for responding. Take care Link to comment
ajsanford 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Oh how funny! I was wondering about the police car in the background. We love that movie and my mother in law bought this lamp for my husband for Christmas, but a smaller scale. I accidentally knocked it off the end table, and got accused of trying to recreate the movie, lol! Regards, Amanda Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted February 18, 2008 Such a shame! Your husband's lamp was a beauty! Link to comment
