Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 24, 2007 Interesting matte finish to the surfaces here. The left side of the picture carries pff the posterized effect very well, the right, well, kind of fades after a good start. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted May 24, 2007 this is a funny shot. Park your butt, do your job, and get on with your day, eh? What is missing is a parking meter in front of each toilet. So I very quickly created a version with parking meters - the right one is to pay for parking the butt, the left one is dispensing toilet paper - 25 cents per square. The light is kind of harsh, looks like a mid-day shot. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Aha.....way better in the creative department, very much to my liking, love the humor here and the digital manipulation pushes this one out of the box. Reminds me of a style of painting that's very popular right now, sorta ala Warhol. So what DID you do to create this look, I need to do something like this with a big sunflower picture to create a greeting card for my Sis?! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 25, 2007 I love your concept. I can't believe I didn't think of that. Must have been low on V8. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 25, 2007 Glad your not going to kick my butt about this one. I actually posted it on Flickr a number of days ago, and did not post it here, because, quite frankly, I figured it would get panned. I don't think I could tell you the exact process I used to get here. I've been using a "levels" layer set at "soft light" lately to start out all my images. It gives kind of a contrast boost and makes for a pleasant effect. This one has filter stages of posterization, and film grain and maybe somemthing else. I did not record the steps I used. Of course, the saturation and hues were boosted. Take care. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted May 27, 2007 You have a sick sense of humor!I'll be back for more... Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Talk about your scatalogical humor. Hopefully, this shot was not inspired by my comment on your abstract shot a couple of weeks ago. But, then again, maybe, hopefully, it was. Oddly enough, we spend more time "parked" on these things than we do "parked" in a parking lot. After all, we just drop off the car and leave, whereas we actually "park" on these things, and, just for good measure, while we retrieve the stuff we leave on the parking lot of the conventional variety after we are done "parking" our hard earned coin in someone ele's cash register, we don't really ever retrieve the stuff we "park" on these types of lots. Now, I need to go wash my hands after THAT bit of toilet humor. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted May 28, 2007 we do retrieve it, at least sometimes. What do you think you eat when you ingest vegatables and grain? You eat processed cow dung, and who knows - maybe some farms fertilize with human output, as well.So now that you washed your hands, what's next?....drinking some soap? V8 cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 28, 2007 Nice to hear from you. I actually took a similar image at a local event a month or two ago. I was not happy with it, so when we had our annual Swedish Festival (third Saturday in May) I went back, knowing that they would put the portapotties back in the same spot. I invite you to appear next year to take photos and give the family an old fashioned all American festival. Come on down, ya heah? Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Speaking of V-8, now that's one thing that tastes like processed cow dung. Link to comment
