dberryhill 3 Posted April 28, 2007 And this is all gone, except for the bare spot where the house was. Building lots are now for sale. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 50,318 Posted April 29, 2007 I really like the foreground Doug. & I always get a feeling of accomplishment when I've snapped one before the bulldozer got there. Nice catch, probably the last image of the place. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted April 29, 2007 Thank you brother. Here at least the house was dismantled to save the logs, I was told. Probably it was time for this to go. But I continually am saddened to see the death of the farm economy and lifestyle. It is what made this area appealing to me when I came here 30 years ago. Link to comment

vallery 0 Posted April 30, 2007 you stopped to take the shot. I have so many that have disappeared. I am now making it a point to really take my time to get the right picture instead of "scouting" and saying I'll come back...because ...well...poof they tend to leave without a sound. dberryhill 3 Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks for looking, everyone. Vallery, you are so right! They leave without a sound, and a place's history is gone and mostly forgotten. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted January 10, 2008 Doug, I spotted this image today and immediately felt a connection to the past. Scenes like this are historical and full of old stories. I'm glad you caught it before it was too late. This was someone's home once. Regards, liz Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 11, 2008 Liz, thanks. When the area around this began to develop, I sort of knew that this would soon be gone. Link to comment
