this is an intriguing structure, I guess from the times when tires were filled with hay instead of air. The look of the wood with its texture is nice. The colours of the flag contrast it well. I don't get the part about the wire. You know, Dave, I just realized one thing regarding the ratings. Your, and mine, photos are most of the time combinations of both the caption and the subject itself, in other words, they both make the photo what they are. With many other shooters the caption is just a secondary thing, and some don't even bother putting captions. When a dude goes to rate photos through the rate forum, he/she cannot see the captions - only the visual image is displayed. That explains many of the 3s in our cases: they don't get the whole picture of the picture, 'cause the missing captions. Cheers, Micheal

I just thought it was funny how the wire runs in through the broken window. I think I might have taken the picture anyway, but it just was an added bonus. Yes, there are many who don't worry about titles at all, and there is something to be said for that in that the photo should be able to stand on its own. I hope mine do, but I also like to have a little fun sometimes and play word games. I have always liked writing and appreciate a well turned phrase, so that might explain my (and your?) affinity to use a title that relates well to the image. Cheer amigo.

we like playing word games...it's fun. I think it's perfectly OK to have the photo function as a combination of the visual and the words (caption). I have posted a few photos that by themselves are fairly poor (visually), yet (at least I) find them in the context of the comments (caption) entertaining. That's how cartoons work anyway, right?
