katzpjs 50 Posted April 22, 2007 I can almost read the word "AGUSTA" on the building. Why so black and gloomy? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 22, 2007 I've done several elevators in pretty much a "straight" style, so I decided I would try and expand my artistic horizons a bit. I know that this will not be very popular, but I have made a conscious decision to make the effort to work on some less traditional images. Not to worry though, I'll still be pretty much Dave. Just trying a little experimentation. (See comments in "BUILDING--AUGUSTA, MONTANA" for some background. As always, I appreciate your thoughts and comments. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 22, 2007 I'm sure this must be the meeting place for the Children of the Corn. Brooding. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted April 23, 2007 I can almost hear the buildings say: "My name is Ahnold, I'll be back." Well, IMHO within the scope of the photo you succeeded in creating an imposing, almost-nameless-yet-not-fully-there-out-of-a-dark-world, image. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks. I was just trying to get a strong graphic image, and, as I stated, I've already done some elevators with pretty straight forward technique. Just a little variety. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted April 26, 2007 i keep coming back to this one. something haunting about it. love the color and ps treatment. well done. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted April 27, 2007 Thanks. I have found that these kind of images do not generally fare well on Pnet. That's okay though. I think the elevator has a very Darth Vader personality in this dark configuration, whereas the usual grain elevator may be metallic, but somehow exudes warmth. Maybe it has to do with the fact that an elevator is our friend since it helps feed us. But this one has turned against us like HAL the computer. A rogue grain elevator. Sounds like a good mystery or sci fi thriller. Hmmmmm. Must be time for my meds. Link to comment
