bosshogg 4 Posted March 26, 2007 Maybe it should have been labeled still life, since it won't be going anywhere. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted March 26, 2007 given the subject, this is a nice compostion. Though I wouldn't label it "beautiful", I like how it all comes together (here is the fraze, again). The snow, the rust, the "empty eye" (the headlight), the tiltedness of the subject, the half-missing logo, the faded paint. Again, good eye. Roll out the barrels...of V8. bosshogg 4 Posted March 26, 2007 Thank you my friend. How is life with the D80? Have you mastered the ten million settings it has? What lens (lenses) are you using with it? Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted March 27, 2007 Ahhh, a theme that I can understand and enjoy! I would have liked to have been there (with camera in hand of course)! I'm going to guess this is a 1951, but it could also be a '52 because the fronts were so similar. My favorite Caddy was the 1953 El Dorado convertible, now that was a real beauty! It was the first El Dorado and it was ONLY available as a convertible. Those were the days... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted March 27, 2007 I don't know what year for sure, but it is damn near as old as me. AND THAT IS OLD! Link to comment
alight 0 Posted March 27, 2007 life with D80 is great...the beginnings. I took it for a spin only once, on Sunday afternoon. I have the Nikon 18-70mm DX lens. I took about 25 photos within the two-hour walk. I was very satisfied with their quality from the point of the camera and the lens. The main functions I now understand. I love the auto-ISO feature; I set it between 100 - 1600 and 1/80 as the shutter lowest speed. Paid off, as some of the shots went as high as 900 ISO (it was cloudy/foggy). What a difference in handling, ergonomics, and overall use compared to the Panasonic digicam! (I also held the D200 (quite heavier) and D2Xs (heavy and huge).) I love it. The real test will be vacation time, when I'll take it for a spin to some wilderness place. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
ron e dobbs 0 Posted May 24, 2008 This is fantastic! As I said earlier, you have a wonderful vision for drawing out exquisite graphic elements from the landscape. One of these days I hope that I can get back to traditional photography but for now I am deeply into exploring my edges, creatively speaking. My enviourment limits my material.....water, sky, horizon, equipment, and every now and then ....land. Time is also limited as well. I have looked through your body of work and your style shines throughout. Congradulations! My best, Ron Dobbs...www.redartphoto.com Link to comment
