juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted February 2, 2007 OK...this one is good too...but you didn't even comment on my comment? I think I liked the railing and the veggetation as well... it's now probably on the menue...this one has a lot more punch to it! crisp as the ocean air...NICE Juan Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 2, 2007 I just decided I did not like the treatment I had given the other one near as much as I thought I did. I overdid the Ps work, and then there was the angle thing, so I pulled it in favor of this one. Yes, you did improve it. If I do the whole scene, I will not use all the filtering I did on that one. I just thought this was much cleaner. Link to comment
colesauce22 0 Posted February 3, 2007 Very cool shot, the composition is great and the colors blend well. Good job! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 3, 2007 Cole and Micheal I appreciate the comments greatly. Micheal, in your usual cryptic manner you have thrown me for a loop on your comment. Are you meaning to say Coke finally folded. If so, I get it. If not, I don't. As I said, readings on the old meter are very high. De Santa Anna has been quiet lately, so you may surpass him for the alltime high reading. Caution! Cole, I took a quick hop skip over to your portfolio and I am blown away with how well you have done in such a very short time. Keep up the good work. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 3, 2007 I would have passed by this without seeing its potential, but thanks to you I'll be more observant os such matters in the future. Very nice! Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 3, 2007 I was pretty sure that I'd previously commented on this image, but then I thought that maybe I'd just dreamed that I did. Either way I hope my comment sticks around for awhile this time. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 3, 2007 You are not dreaming. I had posted a version earlier that at first I really liked. The more I looked at it, the more I saw flaws. You and Juan both commented, and Juan (you'll find this hard to believe) even posted an improved image. But I felt there were too many problems to leave it, so I deleted it. Reworked and severely cropped, this is the same photo. Thanks for the first comment and I apologize for deleting it with the photo, and thanks for commenting again. Have a nice trip. I look forward to seeing your photos from Montana. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted February 3, 2007 you are correct in your thinking that I was referring to Coke folding. I knew you would understand, 'cause you drink V8. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 4, 2007 Here's the problem. I'm out of V8. Need to go to the store. But, like Superman when faced with Kryptonite, I'm fading. May not have the strength to make it to get the V8. Stay tuned. Link to comment
paprika 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Yes it is very similar but the major difference is - you are before and I am after the customers, very nice sharp image David ! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 4, 2007 They may say the early bird gets the worm, but I'd say you got the photo. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 7, 2007 Good one David. I like the crop, composition, light and colours. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 7, 2007 I originally posted a different cropping of the same photo, but heavily reworked in PS. It was quite a bomb, and perhaps deservedly so. At any rate, I cropped away a great deal of the material and cut the PS excess to just some color boosting and levels. I think it is much better this way. Thanks, again for taking the time to look and comment. I have enjoyed your photos immensely. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks David! I do enjoy your work and spirit very much. Really good job on this one! Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 13, 2007 But I can see the gorgeous RED colors and early morning light in this composition. I think you got the cropping and editing just right with this image....job well done. I'm waiting to see what old crusty "thing" you come up with while you're in Montana, and I'm not talking about Juan. Link to comment
