alight 0 Posted January 30, 2007 that's a good one...really funny. What name is on the left tombstone?...Mr. Pricechopper? Hopefully it's the grass patch that's for sale only, not the neighbourhood skeletons. Man, how do you find these photo-opps? The plant growing on the left almost looks like Edward Scissorhand's hand stiking out of the basement. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 30, 2007 Glad you got it. So far you are the first. I showed it to a good friend this morning and he couldn't get it. I thought about cropping out the left stone, which would have allowed me to make the for sale sign bigger in scale, but I liked the flowers too, so left them. I would also like you to note that I posted a "pretty" picture from my trip to the coast. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 31, 2007 There is humor here, but you cannot get it unless you view the image in large size. Then if you go to all that trouble, you still might not get it. And then, if you do, you might not think it's funny. And then..... Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted January 31, 2007 i like the flowers too, and the way i see it, if a person isn't willing to look closer, he doesn't deserve the pay-off! glad i did. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 31, 2007 Thanks. I was afraid it was a little too esoteric, but so far the response has been good. Thanks for commenting. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 31, 2007 My printer is broken, so I do not have a print to sell. But I rather doubt that it would sell anyway. Most of my struff is off the wall humor or very dark type commentary. Niether of which is noted for selling. I appreciate your taking the time to look and to comment. Link to comment
makinit4 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Got it nice work the thanks that come to mine when you have your camera. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 31, 2007 Good eye to see and catch the humor here. This has your name all over it (well, not literally). Being a Southerner, I'm always behind the times. So I have to admit that I haven't quite adjusted to 'For Sale' signs in cemeteries. Do they advertise plots with a view? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 31, 2007 Thank you all for taking a look here and more importantly for commenting. Doug B. Although I roam cemeteries whenever I see one that is new to me and have a few spare moments, I have not noticed plots for sale that often. This one in Monterey had quite a few of them. I did not bother checking to see what the different prices were, but I would be willing to bet that the prettier the spot and better the location, the more expensive it was. Ocean views always are prime. This plot was $1,8000.00. Not too bad for a piece of turf 8'x 3'. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 1, 2007 Okay but can I pitch my pup-tent on it after I own it? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 1, 2007 Doubtful. Patience, you'll have plenty of time to sleep with the dead. Don't rush it. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 1, 2007 I've always had an attraction to graveyards. My brother and I spent the night in a graveyard, under a full moon, in our sleeping bags when I was young. We found a spot next to an open grave that had just been dug that day. I'd forgotten about that, but your remark about "sleeping with the dead" caused me to recall the event. Thank you! bosshogg 4 Posted February 1, 2007 I like graveyards too, but I prefer to just pass through. Sleeping in one? Well, all I've got to say is different strokes for different folks. Cheers Link to comment
iliafarniev 13 Posted February 23, 2007 First got me in kind of philosophical mood and reflect on the future of humanity and such.. But then, well yeah, a creative thinking took over and I thought if there wore not too many people around, like a chidren or ladies, may just let the waters on it no matter how banal or cliche it might sound. Besides, the grass is getting yellow this place.:-] Well, I hope you will pardone.. Regards. Ilia. P.S. Good picture anyway. If the printer will be fixed and get into the salles I would love to to hear about the pricing.. P.S. In France they do it all the time. I swear. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks so much. You certainly do have an interesting outlook. If you have a printer, and would like a large file on a cd of any of my photos, you are welcome to one free. I am not a commercial photographer, so I don't worry too much about sales and copyrights. iliafarniev 13 Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks a lot. I do not have a printer but, I have to say, I am realy glad to see you photos on my screen. The fine sense of humor do they have as english aristocrat might say. Well. I sell pictures sometime and think that some of yours do have a potential. Will let you know if something. Bassically my words are true, allthough it might not look like it. May be bits of jazz here and there but do not cheat or fool around. Regards. Ilia. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Nice Humor, and nice eye! Thank God we can find some humor in it...really. J Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks again. I've a rather dark outlook, so it is most necessary for me to find humor in situations that might not always be thought of as funny. Link to comment
