ldavidson 4 Posted November 25, 2006 I followed the advice of S. Spencer and adjusted this photo. I think it is an improvement. Thanks for the helpful advice. Link to comment
2239727 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Linda I find the frame too heavy/thick but I like the shot quite a lot 6/6 Well Photographed. Link to comment
stevespencer 0 Posted November 25, 2006 I'm glad my suggestion was of use. I think rotating it helped a lot. I see photoshopping visible on the frame which could still be cleaned up a little. The above comment about the heavy frame might be on target. You could try this with a white frame and a new drop shadow and see how it looks (or even construct a white mat in a thin black gallery type frame with the drop shadow outside the black frame on a white 'wall'). I think your drop shadow is a good idea. While it might be popular technique, I still like it. (but then I still like pictures of sunsets and little animals too :) Thanks for sharing your pleasing imagery with us. -Steve Link to comment

ninabee 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Beautiful warm colours. Another great composition. I to agree about the frame, it is fighting for the attention of the viewer. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted June 5, 2007 Linda, I was browsing through your portfolio and found so many beautiful images, but this one in particular caught my eye. I looks like a beautiful oil painting. Very lovely. This should be printed large and hung on a wall...I have space :) I can also see this being made into cards...especially a "missing you" kind of card since there are two empty chairs. Just a thought. Leslie Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted August 6, 2007 A picture postcard image. I want that umbrella :) I love the mixture of the old building with all the overgrowth & the new chairs & umbrella. It looks like they're awaiting a nice parade :) Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 28, 2007 I try really hard not to just use simple comments like, "Pretty," "Beautiful," and all of the standard superlatives. I'm also not a big fan of "pretty" pictures, taken just because they are pretty. Nothing wrong with them. They just aren't me. But I must say you have done some terrifically pleasing images that capture beauty very well. This one is a step above just pretty in that your processing is excellent and there is an underlying feeling beyond just "Isn't that pretty." There is melancholy, and, as someone pointed out, a sense of something missing or someone being missed. It has emotional depth. Very well seen. Link to comment
