jefvandenhoute 0 Posted September 24, 2006 A picture full of symbolism. We visited the camps Auschwitz/Birkenau some 5 years ago on a rainy day. It made the impression of these camp^s still more oppresive. Even more than Auschwitz, the wide plane of Birkenau with all the baracks and the barbed wires made a deep impression Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Yes, a very powerful image. I'm glad that someone got this on film ... And I hope that you plan to get this image *out* beyond PN somehow. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted September 25, 2006 Pawel, this is a very striking image. I agree with Lou Ann, I hope you do get this out beyond the PN world. Although I wouldn't have necessarily known what her surrounding were unless you mentioned it, I look at it now and imagine that wearing the Israel flag is both a sign of assertion and at the same time a form of protection. pnital 36 Posted September 26, 2006 Pawel, it is a strong Symbolic image, for the people that know the history and understand that image Symbolism. I would have sent it and many of your posts from the camps to all the people( like the Iranian , crazy president that says the Holocaust did not occur,..) that know, and the ones that deny. I would like to add my folder to your work about that subject that I appreciate very much!I hope you don't mind Pawel, I think that what you do is very important ! here Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 27, 2006 Please join us. I love the site and would like it to stay as a FAIR platform for ALL photographers to show their work. Diversity is wonderful for all of us. The problem here is that a selected few and among those only one category seems to dominates as of lately. The ratings system here tend to tilt toward those whose imagery is for an audience who seeks a cheap thrill by rating higher REGARDLESS of the quality or content of the image. That is simply not fair. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 50,285 Posted October 16, 2006 I can't write, & I think that's why I take the pictures, but I feel as though I have to comment on this folder. Of all the photographs I've seen on the subject of the horrors of these places, this shot seems to me to be the most powerful . For some reason this person wearing this flag at this place demonstrates the will of a people. I think it's your best. Link to comment

anne getzieh 0 Posted October 28, 2006 hi pawel! this excellent photo is imo far beyond of any rating-system. originality? aesthetics? it`s more - so much more that it`s hard to express. it`s an outstanding picture. regards, anne Link to comment
