katzpjs 50 Posted August 8, 2006 5 Cent Cigars!!! It must be old. Was this taken in Carnation, WA? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 8, 2006 No, it's on a building directly behind our city hall right here in Kingsburg, Ca. When I first started photography in the early 90's, this was one of my first pictures (black and white film, of course). The other night I was out riding my bike and stopped and clicked this one with my digital. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted August 9, 2006 Brick wall signs aren't my kind of thing, but this one is pretty good. Particularly since it's an ad for cigars at a reasonable price. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 9, 2006 Do you still have the photo from the early '90s? If so it might be fun to see that one too. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 9, 2006 Glad to see you here Doug. Shawn, I do still have the old black and white at my little studio, which is not here at my house. I shall have to dig it up. It was a big print, so I cannot scan it. I am pretty sure that over the last 15 years some of this ad art has been sand blasted off. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted August 9, 2006 I thought I'd get in the act of changing your view of a scene to mine. Here I upped the contrast, burned the doors a bit to keep them from dominating the picture, gave it a bit more saturation, and did a fine edge sharpening to bring out the texture of the brick. Feel free to tell me that I have enough to do trying to get my own pictures presentable without messing with yours. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 9, 2006 I like it. Doug you are turning into a Photoshop maven. Before you know it, you might be giving up the country lawyering day job. Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Another wonderful image. The combination of typography, color and angles is excellent. I do love your back alley finds. Link to comment

laurentlacoste 0 Posted January 20, 2007 A great shot, David. The light and colours are wonderful. A great mix of orange and blue. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 20, 2007 Thanks a lot. I admite your work tremendously, so your comments, good or bad, are most welcome. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 28, 2007 Great, David, you got the color just right to jar it slightly from the world of curiousity to the world of art. Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted January 28, 2007 I see you've added a little spice to this shot. I of course like the color charge but I'm not clear on the upper right corner of sky and yellow blur??? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks to both of you. As you said Kent, the color touch was not quite deft enough, especially in the upper right corner. I confess that sometimes I am too impatient to post a photo and do not finish it off as well as I should. This is one of those cases. You both inspire me to do better. Link to comment
