Mike, this is better than I can find descriptive words to describe it. When I look thru all the manipulated and saturated photos here, and find one this honest and this beautiful, I think there is still hope for photography as I appreciate it.

Mike, being a black and white fan myself, I just love this shot. The tonal range is exceptional.Everything from the hot reflective metal on the silos to cold black under the eves of the building.By the way, I would like to tell you that the telephone pole and wires don't bother me.I get comments sometimes from the people from (NO TELEPHONE POLE LAND)that find my poles offensive.I keep leaving my chain saw at home, so like you I just include them in the photograph.Keep shooting.6/6

I have to say you have taken a subject that would not normally be described as "beautiful," and made a beautiful photograph of it and out of it. That takes considerable skill and/or luck, but either way, you deserve a very big BRAVO. Great photo. Magnificent tonality. Perfect composition. It just glows. Congratulations.

This is even more impressive when viewed larger. The reflective light shimmers and every detail comes through. The eternal row of tele poles takes right to the end of frame and back again. Those crossing lights are wonderfully placed in a the hotspot of light. An over-all super composition and texture. You need only to choose a place to hang it.

Doug, Thanks fot that. I appreciate your opinion & I agree, I'm not sur I'd actually want to be one of the "Top" photographers.

Jim , Thanks for looking & your appreciation for B&W.

Sam, Thanks for stopping. I was pleased with the tonal range on this one too & I know what you mean when it comes to leaving the poles in the scene. This is the midwest & you can't help but see them, they're part of our landscape now.

David I appreciate your comment too, I was trying to get blacks black

Thanks Kent, You know those poles at the the right heading out to the horizon were my biggest concern. I wanted those in the frame mot than anything. Thanks for noticing.

Julio, Thanks for stoping. Glad you like it.

Wow. Nice range of tones. A lot to look at but not too busy. I'm envious but at the same time really inspired. Hopefully I'll reach a point where I can make a shot like this someday. Congrats.

Mike, I hope you blow this baby up big and get it out so the public can see it because it is a winner. I am letting a photo student at a local college use my Pentax 6x7 for the summer but I may have to get it back after seeing this. Keep up the good work because you are really good for an old guy!

Hey thanks Tim, I appreciate it. I must be gettin' old , I've been hearing that "Not bad for an old guy" stuff around the house here lately. Quite a bit actually.
