In a wierd sort of way this shot reminds me of those old faked photos of fairies that a couple of kids made and fooled people for years. No fakery here, just a spooky resemblance to fantasy creature. A terrific bug shot (four words that rarely are written by me). You clearly have a skill for putting your models at ease in order to get natural poses. J/k, a great shot.

Huy, your images are simply stunning. What are your lighting techniques? Again your images leave me breathless.

Thank you all for spending time and leaving nice comments on this photo.

Walter,

I'm trying to work against the direct sun light and experimenting different sets of exposure (usually a -2 - at least) to get just the highlite on the subjects. It takes quite a few to get one that I like, but hopefully, I'll get it someday. This photo was taken around noon using a Canon 100mm macro + a Kenko 1.5X TC at 1/160, F/5. I guess I was fortunated to catch these two at the right time. Post processing RAW images with PS CS2 also helps (I do everything here so when the image is converted to .tiff in PS, I only need to crop).

Anyway, thanks once again for your comment.

What a shot, unbelievable. The exposure is bang on and the composition is perfect. One of the best insect macros.
