Sugar & Spice

jayme

F11, 1/125, ISO 100, 4 flash set up, 2 background set at f11, 1 main light @F8(large soft box). Fill light @ f4 bounce umbrella. Add one really cute little girl and it's magic. I hand colored this after I destaturated and played.

Here's the original color, I liked both, but just wanted to play! Wanted it to look a little more antique. Did a B&W too that is super nice.

I also like both but I think the reworked version has more artistic character and gives a very nostalgic old time feeling. Composition and lighting work very well to enhance the overall beauty of this photo.

Very nice! Me too I prefer the reworked version - more nostalgic indeed.

Well done,

Jayme, I agree 100% with Bob - this has to be Photo of the Week - if it isn't, there's no justice in the world! Words to describe this shot actually fail me. It's an absolutely delightful visual feast. It's tender, warm, tells a beautiful story, the post-production is of the highest order, the lighting and shadows are magnificent, the younf lass is sweetly dressed and on and on and on. Full marks Jayme, full marks.

Warm regards.

M- I used 4 lights- 2 on the white seamless background set to F11. Main light-soft box- set at F8 & fill light-bounce umbrella- set at F4. Not Easy, but do-able. Hope this helps!

Jayme, I keep trying to come up with the right word for this picture and the best I can do is Precious.

The nostalgic version works better for me because it better matches the vintage of the stroller. At least the perceived vintage of the stroller.

Thanks for the technical details. What kind of reflector do you use on the background strobes? If you don't mind.
