Madrid's main square, Plaza Mayor, was one of the most important architectural additions to the city when the Spanish monarchs made it its capital city in the 16th C. A Saturday January morning, I went there with my fellow photo.netter friend, Charo Diez, for a photographic rallye.

...Meanwhile, at the other side of the square, a passer-by walks along the arch that leads unto Toledo Street, shrouded in a weak mist. He was, probably, on his way to have his morning coffee at one of the several cafes and restaurants that line the square and read his newspaper leisurely

I loaded my camera with a roll of Kodak T Max 400 and plenty of good intentions to overcome the respect I have for B&W photography (which I understand to be beyond my reaches). The roll was developed by my friend and expert, Alberto Murias, of the Pro Imagen photo shop in Majadahonda, near Madrid, and scanned and post edited later by myself. I have tried several methods in some of the images to get special printing effects. I hope the results would be acceptable to you.

Great B&W and contrast.

Beautiful the effect of the fading buildings on the back

I think this one is also very good, also if it's completely "out" of the reportage...I can't see a connection with it. I would move to another folder.

with a little disagreement with nino baiano on this photo being out of the series even if I respect all opinions and, specially, those of a great photographer as he is.

Thank you very much Alberto for your compliments, expecially the ones you put at the end of the comments in the main section...about this photo, of course you are right to disagree with me, it's important to be convinced of our opinions and you always are.One thing I forgot to say: I do love the vanishing buildings in the background.
