Guest Guest Posted January 22, 2005 Mike, this image is really well done. Somehow, this isn't just a picture of a woman posing for the camera. The tilt of the head plus the turned eyes really give a feeling of emotion and "depth" to this shot. The emotional feel is somewhat enigmatic, but I think that's one of its strengths. It makes you look AND think. I also like the white line of the "undershirt?". Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted January 22, 2005 Nicely done. I can't add much beyond Malcolm's critique except that I think the dark tones and contrast work well with the expression and pose. I like portraits that communicate. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 22, 2005 Malcolm and Mike said it all. There is a bit of Mona Lisa ambiguity here. She could be saying "Put down that camera, I've got things to do." Or she might be saying "Put down that camera, WE'VE got things to do." Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 50,278 Posted January 24, 2005 Thnks for the comments gentlemen, this is my only model, my daughter. She came by the other day & was in kind of a rotten mood, but the ligting was good so I asked her to sit still. Maybe next time I can get her to smile. MIKE, I took apart my Brownie Hawkeye yesterday & cleaned it. I'll let you know how it comes out. Link to comment
