clauder 0 Posted June 14, 2004 This is part of a fotosession I did of a very good friend and her horses... As I know that she loves those 2 horses (togehter with her 2 dogs) above all else, I thought I would try to portray the intimate friendship between her and her animalsI think this one is the best of the lot, for me the soft, intimate expression on her face is reflected on the soft nose and lips of the animal, showing the bond between them, and the very strong friendship and respect between themWhat do you think? threeleaf 0 Posted June 14, 2004 I love this shot - my wifes family have had horses for years and I have seen many horse shots in their house. This is a really nice shot which gently portrays the ladys affection for the animal. Link to comment
wernher 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Yes, I think you've done good. I'm betting she's also pleased with this shot. Now for the nitpicking part: I wish the DOF was just slightly more so that the horse's hairs right at the top of the frame were also sharp. I like it though. Link to comment
clauder 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Well, nitpicking or not, you do have a point here... I have enlarged it to 13" x 19", at normal viewing distnaces it's ok, but if you go closer half of the horses head is not really sharp... Problem is this expression was only a fraction of a moment before it went away, so I didn't bother with the camera settings as I would then not have gotten it... I asked her afterwards to do this again, but it wasn't really the same honest, intimate moment then before, so I figured I keep it like that and pretend not to bother about the DOF :-)) well thanks for that nice comment anyways! bgelfand 1,251 Posted June 14, 2004 You certainly captured the moment in this image. Beautifully done. You have also done an excellent job desaturating the digital image; it has the look of a traditional black and white photo. Link to comment
clauder 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Thank you for your nice words! I see from your portfolio that you are doing your own chemical development, so I take your comment on the look of a traditional BW photo as a big compliment! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted June 14, 2004 I think if such a beautiful girl can look so lovingly into a horse's nose, there is hope for me yet! I do like this one! Link to comment
