Bill Neubaum 9,382 Posted March 17, 2022 I see you have a 7D Mk 2, so do I. I use it mostly with a 400 f4 DO lens and TC's. I'm up in years and can't get around well anymore. This 400 DO only weighs 4.6 pounds, the most I can handle. Also just as you, birds are my favorite subject, and I enjoy your never-ending show! Best of luck to you, Bill Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted March 17, 2022 Thanks Bill Neubaum! I've had this 7D Mark II for the last 8 years and the Canon EF 500mm F4 for about 12 years. I bought this 7D Mark II after my 1D Mark III broke (sold it for $200) and it's in many way match the 1D Mark III with much more pixel to crop (20mp verse 10mp) even though this one is a 1.6 cropped sensor and the 1D Mark II is a 1.3 cropped sensor. My days are also number with this 500mm F4 lens since it's 8.5 lbs and with the 7D Mark II body it's around 11-12lbs. I need to cut down to about 8 lbs (total) one of these days. Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 461 Posted March 17, 2022 Very beautiful the sequence of this heron with an unusual prey, the background out of focus makes the subject stand out well . ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted March 18, 2022 Grazie mille Giangiorgio! It's my first time seeing the Great Egret eat lizzard also. I've seen them eat fish, gopher, mouse but this lizzard eating is the fist image I ever caught. Link to comment
