Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted November 12, 2021 A nice sequence of this pelican caught in flight while expelling feces. I have often observed that many birds emit feces just before taking off, this interval allows you to prepare to photograph them as they take off in flight , ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted November 12, 2021 Grazie mille Giangiorgio!Yup, the birds genrally poop before they fly away and my friends used to refer to that as 'lighten the load'. That's probably true that they know to reduce redundant weight/waste before they fly, LOL. As for this one, he was just flying around and then ..... 'poop' and I get type of shot a lot for the simple reason that I have a habit of panning any flying bird that fly by and shoot in sequence till I can no longer do so. For that reason, I tend to catch them doing this airial bombing quite often since no one can predict when they do this and it happens in less than 1/2 a second, I think. This camera shoot 18fps and only 3,4 shots caught this 'bombing' shown how short the duration of this happening. Link to comment

tm_j 30 Posted November 15, 2021 Thanks Gregory & Verena! Many years ago, I used to teach Community College part-time and my lecture put many students to sleep since I talked alot. That seems to carry out on this board also, LOL! Link to comment
