Giangiorgio Crisponi 461 Posted October 7, 2020 Jellyfish - (Rhizostoma pulmo). I photographed this jellyfish (Rhizostoma pulmo) in the sea of Cagliari (Sardinia) with Nikon coolpix sub camera. This jellyfish is not very stinging and is among the largest in the Mediterranean, up to 60 cm. Swim slowly surrounded by small fish. Thank you for your comments Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted October 7, 2020 Giangiorgio...This totally changes my outlook on jellyfish! This and your other image are really amazing and I must confess I am taken by the vivid colors and the shape of these.Jellyfish are normally scarce in our cold waters but this past summer, paticularly dry and warmer saw an influx of these, not so colorful but in very large quantities....another sign of climate changes due to global warming still denied by some.I'll save this shot in my Favorites!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 264 Posted October 8, 2020 Another wonderful, colorful composition where the lower part resembles lilacs (the lower part of the jellyfish, that is) while the upper parts resembles a bride's veil in the part of the head! Complimenti, maestro! PDE Link to comment
