Giangiorgio Crisponi 463 Posted May 16, 2020 Monk parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus). I photographed these parakeets while they were preparing to nest carrying twigs of Parkinsonia aculeata. Unlike other birds, the parakeets carry the branches, even bulky ones, holding them with the beak at the just cut end. Nikon D850, Nikon 300mm, f / 4, 1/4000 sec, ISO 100. vincentoiseau 83 Posted May 18, 2020 Hi Giangiorgio, Wonderful photo, with the palm leaf making a diagonal composition and the parakeet just above it, with its wings in the best possible position, allowing the light from below/side to illuminate even the inside of the wings. The white background makes the image look a bit like an engraving or woodprint. You must have been close to the bird to be able to get this amount of detail with a 300 mm lens on a FF camera. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
