tai 3 Posted February 13, 2020 Good shot, Jack! I liked how you delicately captured the moment of someone's private life. An interesting frame where several characters are guessed in everyday situation. This lady dressed in a fur coat seemed funny to me. However, you can see snow or ice under the feet of the characters. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 14, 2020 Thanks, Tatiana. I think this has a somewhat Norman Rockwell feeling in that it's mainly story telling. That's not ice or snow inside, I assure you; we've had a very warm winter here in Osaka despite the fur coat the woman is wearing. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 17, 2020 Hi Jack, your image clearly has a very strong subject, a lady in a fur coat. To me, her 'ferocious' appearance, although seen from the back, seems to represent a culture of getting what you want. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but that's how the photo speaks to me. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 19, 2020 Thank you very much for your interesting comment. Japan is very much a passive society where everyone more or less is taught to color within the lines. When you do have a more assertive person, they pretty much do what they want and stand out from the crowd. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted March 3, 2020 A culture within a culture.....A waterhole where people from so many galaxies or Time meet at the same place. One of your most impressive, powerful real-life in a while. A treasure of a find! A delight to watch and wonder for a long while. I would love to have a bite in that such authentic and crazy place. Best. DG Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 4, 2020 Thank you for the comment, Daniel, thoughtful as always. Yes, I agree with you, these are all little worlds in themselves. Sometimes we notice them; most of the time we pass by blindly, our head wreathed in dreams. Link to comment
