The Far Eastern curlew (Numenius madagascariensis) is a large shorebird. Its numbers have declined by an estimated 81.4% over 30 years and the species is now listed as vulnerable under the IUCN Red List.

Beautiful capture Sandor. It is very similar in color and markings to the Whimbrel that I have seen in Oregon, which is a member of the same family. Warmest regards, Todd
